    New Ascension Catholic Coach

I usually leave the "High School" thread to you local guys in Louisiana. But my old friend, fraternity brother and LA Tech grad Benny Saia, just took the Ascension Catholic head coaching football job after a 2-year retirement from Dutchtown HS. He was the head coach and AD at Dutchtown HS for 15 years. Benny is also the father of former LA Tech OG Kevin Saia, who started 40 consecutive games for the Bulldogs at left guard from 2009-2012.

Dutchtown was very good under him, he's a good coach. Maybe he'll send Tech some good players.

Sidenote...he was on the Tara team that won the state title in 1974. They beat Fair Park 10-9. Fair Park beat us (refs helped...) 7-0 in the semis at Indy Stadium. As I recall Tara started that season 0-4 and never lost again.
