I agree with this. I, also, believe it is about letting go of anything in your mind. Concentrate too much and you are doomed - letting your mind wander to other things and you are doomed. It is SO much a mental game. When running down the court getting away from defenders, things come more natural. You let you body take over. When standing still and everyone watching you, it becomes a mind game.

I recently picked up a fiddle for the first time in 30 years -- Turkey in the Straw somehow came out it without my even thinking about it. But when I tried to concentrate, it sounded more like ... an actual turkey.
If you asked me to write down my long distance code to call out from work, I'd have a really hard time getting there (and would be double guessing myself on every number).
If you stick a phone in front of me, my fingers will dial it automatically. I've been doing it without thinking for almost 11 years. I kind of know it too well to think about it.
Hah! what about driving! Had a car dash out in front or me from a side street, and I laid on the horn, used the brake, guided my car to the right after a quick glance in the mirror, cussed that driver profusely, all in less than a second! Just think if we had to stop and think how to do each of those steps....whoa!
But...FT shooting is easy. So is 3-point shooting.
