Good job Ladies!
Nice!
#25 is nice, but it's ok to aim higher. 5 teams jumped us this week, while we held at #25.
Tech actually fell out of the top 25 in the most recent FPN rankings (2/26/19). https://fastpitchnews.com/fpn-college-softball-rankings/fpn-ncaa-di-softball-rankings-february-26-2019/357862 How "Louisiana" is still at 11 with 2 losses and Kentucky moved UP from 23 to 19 with an overall record of 9 - 7 is a mystery to me.
Game suspended today in Orlando due to weather with Techsters up 2-0 in the 4th....
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
These softball Lady Techsters are impressive! Right now I can't spare anymore time to get to Ruston for anymore games than I'm already making with MBB & baseball. But when the day comes that Mrs TD & I get moved to Ruston, we'll definitely be getting season tickets.
The problem is scheduling.
I don't know who schedules the game, but they keep playing 2 different opponents in double headers. Of the 3 games they lost, 2 have been in the 2nd game against a fresh\rested opponent. These ladies would probably be a 1 loss team in the top 10 if someone knew how to schedules games.
That's the way these early season tournaments are run. Tomorrow, #1 Florida State will play Toledo before playing Louisiana Tech. Then Tech will play UCF after the Florida State game. Maybe a fresh Tech team will be able to beat a tired Florida State team. Of course, Tech might then be tired when they play UCF in the second game. Tech helped themselves today by run-ruling the two teams it played to save some wear and tear on its players. As best as I can tell, the game against Florida State is not going to be broadcast, which is a bummer. If someone knows differently, please let me know.
After looking at the schedule for the entire season, there will be double-headers in conference play, 2 games one day and 1 game the next day. I guess they do it that way since the games are only 7 innings long and the pitchers are able to pitch a lot more than guys can/do in baseball.
Florida State squeaked out a 5 to 4 win over Toledo in 7 innings. Next up, the Techsters have a chance to take down the #1 ranked team. I know they can do it.
