3-2 in 10 innings. Our six pitchers struck out 14 Cajun batters.

The home plate guy was inconsistent all night. The guy who hit the home run for LaLaff should have been rung up two times before he got strike 5 to hit over the score board.

LaLaff had a legit complaint on the interference call. I could not believe they didn't call it.

I thought it was clean. He slid directly into the bag with nothing extended out. Both sides had inadvertently overslid the bags all night. Cajuns also fussed about Tanner's check swing. I thought he held up and the appeal was to the ump behind pitcher. He is never gonna make that call.

Jonathon Fincher picked up the win in the 10th in relief. Stuck out 3 consecutive batters. Great way to make your debut to BullDawg Baseball.

By-the-by he's the grandson of Retired Economics Professor, LA Tech Alum & Claiborne Parish resident Butch Fincher.

Looked like he went well to the left to me. That's what the LaLaff coach was fussing about. I anticipated the argument before he came out on the field. I have not watched a replay and I could be wrong.

That’s his second good outing. I believe he pitched the final 3 innings in Sunday’s win.

Intent doesn't matter with an interference call. It doesn't matter if he unintentionally slid past the bag or did it on purpose. If the runner slides past the bag and affects the fielder, it's interference.

It's a turf slide. I've seen this situation involving potential interference on the college level several times in the past five years where the runner slides through the bag simply because he's sliding on turf. Umpires are not going to call it.

Sliding on turf is different than sliding on dirt, less friction! You have to practice on it to become proficient at it. My son slid past the bag at 3rd at one of the WAC California schools who had turf and unfortunately was tagged out trying to get back to the bag.

Exactly my thoughts. Nothing appeared intentional and if that was the only instance of over-sliding it may have been different. Turf+moisture= not gonna get called. Ump was strong in his conviction of the call and reasoning.
