    I thought Alliance and CBS had a contract. According to this article from CBS Sports, the payment was a planned and paychecks were missed because of a glitch. NBC probably just wants it fail.

    I think its more likely that it was someone trying to break a story before getting all of the facts or confirming with sources. That is the main problem with information these days - folks want to be first, not right
