I view our success on the field and attendance as somewhat separate issues.
Winning 5 in a row hasn't helped attendance, but it hasn't hurt either. It seems to be a non factor. That doesn't mean it's not good or better than the alternative.
On the field we need to move past bowl games and on to conference championships and competing for Access bowls. I don't see any of that happening this year, but maybe in a few.
Off the field, we certainly need to increase support. I don't have faith that our AD has some fresh ideas on that.
Not really. Absolutely NOTHING has hurt our attendance as much as that Holtz offense that can't score in the red zone.
One other problem: red zone stalls. LA Tech ranked 97th in points per scoring opportunity (first downs inside the opponent’s 40), 100th in inside-the-10 success rate, and 87th in goal line success rate. These failures were of direct importance in the loss to WKU — the Bulldogs created two more scoring opportunities than the Hilltoppers but scored just 13 points in seven chances. WKU scored 28 in five.

For emphasis, I want everyone to read this sentence again:
As I've been stating for the last 3 years, its a statistical FACT that our "J'Mar Smith" led LA Tech offense CAN'T SCORE. And --as the article indicates-- it gets worse as each season drags on. People know this now and it shows in our attendance numbers. I've got family members who are just like some of you....they won't go to a game anymore until J'Mar leaves. One other problem: red zone stalls. That's totally beside the point, and truly a useless fact in this discussion. Fact is, LA Tech is NOT putting an exciting product on the field, and until they do our attendance will continue to suffer. I've already given you concrete examples of relatives who simply won't go back to JAS until J'Mar is gone. This fact has nothing to do with attendance being down "across the board" in college football.
It's not impossible for us to get better attendance. Case in point, UNT saw a BIG BOUNCE in football attendance in 2018. And it was all because the football team plays an exciting, wide open offense, with a very exciting QB. They were fun to watch. And after UNT donkey stomped Arkansas in Fayetteville, UNT fans turned out 30K+ strong to see them play LA Tech in Apogee. That was a record home attendance for UNT, and that's called energy. And JAS needs some of THAT!
Yes, after they donkey stomped Arkansas in Fayetteville...there was some excitement surrounding the program. If we would have donkey stomped LSU, attendance would have improved even with J’mar as Qb. Dooley created some excitement around the program even with some shitty offensive perfomamces because we played Hawaii and Boise at home when they were relevant teams. CUSA sucks as a whole right now, not much to get excited about when playing UTEP at home.
Either schedule some quality OOC games or CUSA needs to become relevant if we want attendance to improve significantly.
I honestly don’t think we would have sold out the next home game even if we beat LSU. That is how upset some of the most hardcore fans are. Maybe they would claim a sellout based on tickets sold but there would have been enough seats open for it to show.
Idk if Id say sellout but itd have been a good crowd at 4-0.
See that’s the thing though, we have had a few good crowds over the years. The fact that some of us really aren’t sure if being 4-0 coming off a win over LSU could put 30,000 in the stands says everything about our current AD.
Back to my point about LA Tech NOT putting an exciting product on the field, below is a post that I posted 3 weeks into last football season. That's pretty bad.

Re: If you want a thread to die
It will Continue to be as long as we have the same QB no matter what else changes. He has regressed every single game since his first start at Arkansas.
