I remember when Texas Tech came to Ruston and played us OOC in the TAC. Best I remember, the Kilgore Rangerettes performed at halftime.

Used to be worthwhile to drive to Ruston and watch Bulldog basketball. Gotta really love you some swac ball if you want to do that now.

We did host and beat TCU in 2008, but at the time they were in the Mountain West.

Not defending them -

Just saying let's not pretend we have EVER had quality opponents in Ruston - regardless of the coach

Mike White had some of the easiest schedules there were in OOC play

Like I said - it's been since the 90's since we have had a NAME ooc opponent in the TAC - unless you count SIU and a few of the others

You are correct on that one for some reason I thought the year was 99-

Knight was a fulfilling a recruiting promise to Jay Jackson...

We have never had an issue with our regional OOC games away (usually play 2 a year, sometimes 3)

But the fact remains - our schedules have not changed much at all since I began following Tech basketball along time ago

In fact an argument can be made that they are somewhat better NOW than they were in the past
