And the Mueller report gives you over 400 pages to justify the need for this particular investigation. It is full of stuff that you would reasonably expect and hope our intelligence community is on top of.

Impeachment will never happen. The issue now is strictly a political one for 2020 as the hater Dems can't face the fact that Trump is innocent.

Pelosi, leaders hold off on impeachment process as Waters makes feelings known

Leaders of the House Democrats backed off the idea of immediately launching impeachment proceedings against President Trump in an urgent conference call Monday evening amid a growing rift among the party's rank-and-file members, presidential contenders and committee chairs on the contentious issue.
Fox News is told by two senior sources on the private conference call that even House Financial Services Committee Chair Maxine Waters, an anti-Trump firebrand, told fellow Democrats that while she personally favored going forward with impeachment proceedings, she was not pushing for other members to join her.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her leadership team were clear there were no immediate plans to move forward with impeachment, Fox News is also told. Well-placed sources said it was a spirited 87-minute call involving more than 170 Democrat members, including House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff and House Oversight Committee Chair Elijah Cummings.

Dem leaders stress more Trump probes, downplay impeachment

    By LAURIE KELLMAN
WASHINGTON (AP) — A House chairman on Monday subpoenaed former White House Counsel Don McGahn as Democratic leaders moved to deepen their investigation of President Donald Trump while bottling up talk among their rank-and-file of impeaching him.
Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler was one of six powerful committee leaders making their case on a conference call with other House Democrats late in the day that they are effectively investigating Trump-related matters ranging from potential obstruction to his personal and business taxes.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged divided Democrats to focus on fact-finding rather than the prospect of any impeachment proceedings after the damning details of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

The intelligence community under Obama wasn't very intelligent.

A political opponent of whom? Did you read the sentnces before the one that was quoted? And the stuff later in the report of what Kilminik had said regarding Carter Page?

Like I said, they met any burden required to “spy” on Carter Page. The dude obviously tried to make himself look more important and influential than he was, and it made him a person of interest, particularly in the context of all the other intel the FBI had on Russian efforts to influence the election.

Were not there other investigation concerning the same subject material prior to Mueller? Hasn't it been investigated thouroughly. How could more investigation of the same thing be necessary? If there is more investigation, shouldn't it focus on how the Russians did whatever they did and not on Trump. It happened on Obama's watch. Maybe that should be what is investigated. Why did Obama want Russia to influence the election and how did he allow it to happen?

“With respect to whether the president can be found to have obstructed justice by exercising his powers under Article II of the Constitution, we concluded that Congress has authority to prohibit a President’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice,” - Mueller report

“the separation-of-powers doctrine authorizes Congress to protect official proceedings, including those of courts and grand juries, from corrupt, obstructive acts regardless of their source.” - Mueller report

“The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of the office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law,” - Mueller report

You could just read the report. He lays out his findings and also discloses inadequacies one Trump’s written answers, which I expect would be the focal point of further inquiry.

Mueller: "We informed counsel of the insufficiency of those responses in several respects. We noted, among other things, that the President stated on more than 30 occasions that he ‘does not recall’ or ‘remember’ or have an ‘independent recollection’ of information called for by the questions. Other answers were ‘incomplete or imprecise.’ "

"We viewed the written answers to be inadequate." - Mueller

Unfortunately, Mueller couldn’t go further due to “thorny Constituional issues”, but Congress can.

Alas, they won’t because Congressional Republicans don’t care about the rule of law when it doesn’t serve their party’s interest.

Also, the Mueller report also indicates that he referred 14 matters to outside prosecutors because he believed they were beyond his scope. Who knows what level of further investigation those warrant?

If 2 years of investigation and report writing, etc., doesn't satisfy the dems, then the American taxpayer didn't get their money's worth. Man, enough is enough. There is no evidence sufficient to charge Trump with any crimes. The American public wants our government to move our country forward, not continue walking down the same path. Even when more investigation, etc., is done I predict the Dems still will not be satisfied. They will continue to do what they have done and that is ANYTHING to attempt to make Trump's presidency appear illegitimate and ANYTHING they can do to make him ineffective. It has become ridiculous. There is nothing from which the American citizens' lives will improve from continuing this nonsense. THAT is what the dems should be interested in doing.

Yes, there is evidence sufficient to charge Trump with crimes, Mueller just doesn’t believe he has the authority to indict a sitting president. That is why he kicked it to Congress - they are the only ones with the authority. It is in the report.

The most-cited reasoning is obummer was effing lazy...he did very, very little as POTUS, he let Dirty Harry and Pelosi carry the load...and given that he, and everyone, thought it was a slam-dunk that HRC would win the 2016 election, he, and others, simply didn't care enough to try to intervene in the Russian activity.

When Mitch McConnell refused to agree with Biden’s request support a bipartisan condemnation of Russia’s effort to interfere, Obama chose not to go public with it because he didn’t want to appear to put his thumb on the scale to politically weaponize intelligence in a way that might appear to help Hillary.

When national security officials told congressional leaders about Russia’s interference, it was McConnell who not only didn’t want to alert the public, he also questioned the validity of the intelligence.

Does FoxNews not report on this?
