If we were getting $1.5M. Our lame AD has settled for $400K less than that.

Embarrassing that TMac gets out negotiated by over $2M by Arkansas State in just 3 comparable OOC games without even including Vanderbilt.

I thought our adidas contract was low as well, $3 Million over 5 years (ends 2021-22).

AState renewed for $11 Million over 7 years which I understand they prob got more money for renewing. Our contract in a few years, I bet we will not get more than what a Sun Belt school gets with Tommy as AD.

We are not getting our money's worth out of McClelland.

I staunchly believe that FBS teams should not play FCS teams (or at the very least not be allowed to count them toward bowl eligibility.) I also believe that eight regular season home games should not be allowed.
If he hasn't been fired yet, I'd say he's pretty safe.

If those numbers are true (which is always a big question anytime people post numbers on the internet), then LA Tech got only 600K per year, vs ASU getting almost $1.6M per year. Again, IF THIS IS TRUE, I'd like to know why Addidas thinks Arkansas State is worth more than $1M a year more than Louisiana Tech??

It's one thing for us to be bad negotiators, but it's quite another to be downright stupid about it. This doesn't make sense. So, I'm guessing there's more to this story than we're being told.

Tech announces 5-year deal with Adidas | Bleedtechblue.com

"The contract is for 5 years and worth $3.025 million for an average of $605,000."

Arkansas State beefs up its deal with Adidas | forgotten5.com

"Recently the Arkansas State Red Wolves signed a new 7-year, $11M agreement ($5.25M guaranteed) with Adidas. The fresh deal – which covers football, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball and the Olympic sports – represents a whopping 357% increase in gross maximum total revenue over the previous arrangement, which had a gross maximum of about $2.4M."

This has been asked and answered.

TMac is sowing favors within the profession that he hopes to cash in later. He's playing the long game … only its for his career advancement, not Tech's.

But will other players in the field see him as finally having earned his shot? Or just as a mook?

I think this may have been posted before, but, more "value assessment."

    http://forgotten5.com/2019/03/25/what-does-the-new-aac-media-rights-deal-mean-for-each-group-of-five-conference/

    excerpt

    "Conference USA

So remember when CUSA renegotiated their media rights deal a couple of years ago? Turns out that was more indicative of the conference’s perceived value than the actual media rights landscape.
This is, of course, unfortunate for the conference.
Right now, their deal is for a rough total of $400,000 per school per year, which works out to about $5.6 million per year and $28 million over the five-year life of the deal.
This is absolutely anemic compared to any conference other than the Sun Belt, and it makes one wonder what the offer from ESPN would have been for a setup similar to the MAC or SBC."
Anyone have the answer to the "makes one wonder?"

The guaranteed is only $750,000 a year. I wonder what stipulates Adidas paying double that?

I will take a winnable SEC game for 900K over an unwinnable SEC game for 1.5 Mill any day of the week. However watching stAte roll in the cash on a clothing deal is unforgivable.

What do you think of the $1.1M each against Clemson, Texas, NC State? You think we got the going rate for these games?

The guaranteed amount is still 25% better than the Tech deal.

Is McClelland a plant? He seems to be doing whatever he can to damage Tech athletics. He’s very similar to Stovall.

Never attribute to malice what can be explained by ignorance.

    That said...
