Don't think any of us would have believed three weeks (actually 8 conference games) ago that Tech could make up its 4-game deficit in the conference standings to USM (6-0 vs 2-4) this quickly.
FIU clinches the series over USM by beating the Golden Eagles 16-6 in Miami.
Marshall and WKU split a pair to finish their series in Charleston.
Middle Tennessee wins over UAB 9-2 in the series decider at Murfreesboro.
Charlotte got a home sweep over Rice, scoring two in the 9th to win 6-5 in game one and taking game two 4-0.
ODU beat UTSA 14-13 in 10 innings at San Antonio.

Bulldogs Clinch Series over FAU Behind 10th Consecutive Victory

As good a weekend as it was all considered it’s still disappointing not playing better in a game that had the potential of knocking FAU into 3rd place as well as the defiance statement it would’ve made in conference and around the country.
While I’m nitpicking I have to critique the bullpen in not doing their job to the level needed. It continues to be our greatest weakness. At this point, being brutally honest, I don’t think our pitching coach has shown enough coaching expertise to be back in a Bulldog uniform next year. Improvements within the staff are mandatory over the course of a season and I’m not seeing them. In the mindset of always striving to advance the program a change appears necessary unless something almost miraculous happens. I’m hoping it does.
