We only scored 3 runs per game this weekend & won the series. Offense didn’t win this series. Pitching not so good today but pitching won game 1&2.
Out pitching isn’t stellar but has been competitive the last 2 weeks. We are playing our best baseball of the season but we could be much better. Hopefully we stay hot with 20 games left we need to go 15-5 to be in the at large conversation. I think our league will put 2 maybe 3 teams in regionals especially if top 3 finish second half of conference as strong as first half
Up to 32 in RPI. Crazy that we are in 3rd place in Conference with best RPI - USM next closest at 51. Not gonna get much bump with strength of schedule weakening from here on out. Gotta keep winning.
Of course after winning the first two, I wanted the sweep. But winning the series, especially on the road vs. the current #1 team in the league, is a nice accomplishment by the Diamond Dawgs.

What schedule are you looking at? We still have 3 games with Marshall (20-15), 3 games with Old Dominion (24-14), #14 LSU, and Arkansas-Little Rock (who just demolished former top 25 Coastal Carolina 5-8 and 0-14 consecutively), as well as games with Northwestern State and ULM who both beat us earlier this season. Every team we face from here on out has an rpi of 113 or worse except for LSU (11) so that’s what schedule he’s looking at. We’ll likely have to be top 40 rpi with around 40 wins to get at-large, so that schedule makes it difficult to maintain our rpi. One bad weekend could kill our chances.
But I’m excited about this team, especially with the resurgence of huddleston’s bat and robbins’ arm. Hopefully this is the weekend we put Leal in the rotation. I like Bailey but he’s had his chances.
This team is good enough to win the conference title and may not need to worry about all of that. We know they can beat FAU and Southern Miss is on a downward spiral while Tech only gets better after each game. Plus, we just went up 2 points to 31 after beating ULM, so it does help to beat the teams with low RPI. By the time we play Old Dominion, they'll be much higher. They just swept #45 VCU, and they'll probably give #15 East Carolina more than they bargained for.
