FIU vs Louisiana Tech
Ruston, LA
Friday, September 20 | 7 PM
TV: TBD
Would of been better if it was Thursday night. We are competing against Friday night Louisiana high school football.
So. . . as I understood it, part of the reason CUSA doesn't have a great tv money deal is that we didn't want to be forced into weeknight games the way ESPN likes to do to the MAC and the Belt.
But if we're getting less money, and we're on less prestigious channels, and we have to play on Fridays? That seems less then ideal.

To me, (especially since I live in Shreveport) Thursday/Friday games are not a big deal. Tuesday/Wednesday games are the what we didn't want to get into.
It looks like C-USA's new deal (started last year) with CBSSN calls for 3 Friday night games per year. The MAC plays most of November on Tuesday-Thursday
UL-L has a home game on a Wednesday in October
Most conference play on Thursday/Friday, including the P5 -

The SEC is the only conference that plays all games on Saturday (except Labor Day & Thanksgiving weekends)
I'll be driving by Ruston on Friday, Sept. 20, and headed to Shreveport for a game that night: defending Texas Class 6A Champion Longview vs. defending Louisiana Class 5A runnerup West Monroe.
A sizeable crowd is expected as both schools' season ticket packages include a ticket to the game at Independence Stadium.

Depending on Cedar Creeks schedule and who our starting QB is for the Dawgs, I may opt for the better on field product at CC.
Friday night means I’m out. Not using a day of vacation time and driving 300+ miles one way to watch what we are putting on the field offensively right now.
