    Drew Cooper is 12 now but he was 3 when his dad Lonnie retired from competitive basketball, so he never saw his "old man," now 42, win a state championship for McCall High in Tallulah, never saw a single game from Lonnie's Louisiana Player of the Year season for Louisiana Tech, never saw any film of his dad's pro career as a Harlem Globetrotter or MVP of his Des Moines team or MVP of the International Basketball Association.

    Is it just me or are yall getting the sense that Lonnie might be back at Tech in some sort of coaching capacity before long?

    FWIW, Cooper let it be known that he wanted an assistant spot at Tech when our current coach was hired.

    I heard Keith had to let Lonnie go at ULM, cause he wasn't bringing any players in. As an Assistant Coach in college, you have to pound the pavement and recruit, that is not Lonnie's strength. With that said, I love LC and he is one of my favorite all time La Tech players.
