Trump announces we are building 5 more ice-breakers for our navy. We currently operate only one. Yeah, I know, ice-covered water is not our normal domain, but we have to be able to cross near the two poles, and it takes ice-breakers to accomplish that. China has one ice-breaker, while Russia has 40. Progress is being made under our great leader.

    Re: China

    More good news...

The US is completing a HUGE sale of arms to Taiwan. It includes:

Harpoon II anti-ship missiles. Two frigates will carry a battery, but mostly this is a coastal defense, land-based missile. Taiwan will establish 8 fixed sites, hardened, and the rest will be mounted on mobile vehicles making there whereabouts hard to track. The Harpoon II has the range to reach mainland China from Taiwan, but its primary use is anti-ship.

We are selling them 66 F-16s. This really irritated the Chicoms! Their foreign minister issued a formal complaint, and when asked about it Sec of State Mike Pompeo paused...his lips quivering...you could just tell he wanted to say "Eff you!" But he gave a diplomatic response. The F-16 is the ideal jet for Taiwan's needs. It can provide close air support, it is hell attacking ships, and is more than a match for the Chicom fighters they are likely to face in air combat.

The sale includes 100 A-1 Abrams tanks, that along with its regular armament, the main gun and two heavy machine guns, are also fitted with a Stinger anti-aircraft missile. They are also getting 1,500 of the hand-held version of the Stinger missile.

Surprisingly, this deal has bi-partisan support. Democrat Congressman Engle of NY praised the sale and acknowledged the Trump administration's taking the lead on it.

Clearly, the noose is tightening around China. Watched a video on YouTube made by the British defense think tank known as "The Defense Committee," on the "growing" Chicom threat. At least that was the title of the piece, but all they did was play-down the Chicom military threat. Not that China doesn't possess a large military (4th largest in the world), and couldn't be a threat, but they are being checked at every point. The think tank states that any war with China would be led by the USA, and they (we) can count on 55 allies, while China might have 5 allies at the most. They didn't list the 5...I can guess North Korea is one of them. Pakistan is a possibility. They only posed questions about Russia and its potential involvement. Every article or source I have read/seen recommends the US to strike a non-aggression pact with Russia re: China. If war erupts with the Chicoms, China will be seeking Russia as an ally. If the Ruskies stay out of it, China is toast and fairly quickly.

    Re: China

One of our small carriers, a helicopter carrier, I think it is, is under repair and upgrades and a fire has broken out on it. A welding accident touched off the fire. All the choppers had been flown off to make room for the construction crew. It is at the San Diego Naval Yard. A news copter is flying around giving aerial coverage of the fire crews battling the fire. In the shots you can see about 20+ ships docked, including two other carriers and a variety of cruisers, destroyers and at least one sub. A friend, a naval reserve officer, just FB messaged me about it. During the exchange he said the fleet based at San Diego, just by itself, would be the 4th largest navy in the world.

A few injuries reported, but it is still early in the incident.

    Re: China

EU announces more sanctions against China over unrest in Hong Kong. France has cancelled a previously agreed-to commercial flight exchange with Beijing. Germany calls for harsher actions against China.

India and China are meeting to discuss the "unrest" in the Chusul region, the mountain passes that connect the two countries. In recent scraps, nearly 400 Chicom soldiers have been killed or wounded, while India reports 80 casualties. Interestingly no "modern" weapons have been used, guns or grenades, but instead rocks, clubs, and swords have been wielded with devastating effect. In one incident, 16 special forces Indian troops, trained to use "primitive" weapons, charged across the border and attacked a camp of 150 Chicoms. The Indians were seeking revenge for their colonel being killed, hit in the head by a rock thrown by a Chinese soldier from a ledge above. The Chinese apparently did not realize the 16 Indians were "charging" through the pass, thinking the scuffle was over for that day. They were surprised when the Indians appeared in their camp, swords in hand, and attacked them. Over 100 of the Chicoms were killed or wounded, the Indians reported just one man wounded.

This all sounds ridiculous that in 2020 such primitive weapons are being used, when both sides have modern weapons at hand. Neither side wishes to escalate the border skirmishing and that would happen should real combat start. There is a name for it...in Indian...a way to keep your honor while using "what is at hand." The Chicoms seem willing to play along for now. I'm not sure what kind of swords were used and if that is still considered "what is at hand." The rocks, yes, but swords?

    Re: China

China-Australia economic ties...each is dependent on the other in some key areas, namely raw materials, especially minerals, and doubly-especially rare earth minerals. 33% of Australia's exports in this key sector goes to China, and China gets practically all of its RE minerals from Australia. The US needs to start buying more of Australia's RE minerals (we are currently 20% of their export market), and denying it to the Chicoms.

China imports over 80% of its oil from the Middle East, using a trade route that passes within 60 miles of the southern tip of India. And with some islands further out, where India has a submarine base and a naval air station, India sits right on top of this key route. India has also just completed an airbase on their southern coast, housing fighter-bombers and torpedo-carrying attack helicopters.

These two factors are why the Chicoms are very nervous about the recent US-India-Australia-Japan-Norway-South Korea-Philippines (and Taiwan too) military pact. They know their already teetering economy would completely tank with the interruption of their raw materials and oil trade. China has to stop its anti-be-a-good-world-citizen nonsense and come to the negotiating table.

I also find it interesting that India still considers Russia to be a VERY, VERY strong ally, even as she discontinues the purchase of most military equipment/supplies from Russia in favor of buying from us. India has made it clear they still want a strong, friendly relationship with Russia...but they want the same with the USA. Russia has said the same about India, wishing to maintain a good relationship. India has gone as far to say she would not go to war against Russia... so, as the Sino-Russian relationship continues to heat up, with border squabbles, perhaps China sees this as just another reason to back off its aggressive foreign policy as the Chicoms cannot depend on Russia as an ally should a war start with the US and our allies.

And the maestro of this new reality is our very own gallant, brilliant leader, President Trump. Of course, preserving peace and fair and free trade is the goal...not war. The Chicoms, and the Ruskies, will always be themselves which means we can only trust them so far...up to the point where we can keep an eye on them. The Chicoms DID meddle in Australia's 2018 elections some openly and some clandestinely and have not even tried to deny it when called out about it. So, yeah, commies are still commies...but it is far better to try to negotiate thru our differences and find a compromise position both sides can live with...rather than engage in a shooting war.

Two DOJ indictments and charges filed against two Chinese nationals yesterday for espionage and hacking. I saw a picture of one and no picture of the other. I do not know if they are currently in US or not. Trump ordered Chinese consulate in Houston closed and they had 72 hours to evacuate the building. Fires reported at Chinese consulate last night where it looks as if Chinese officials are burning papers and materials.

The Feds are not very swift when it comes to response to cyber crimes. There is no telling what secrets these two people got away with before all of this came to light.

Just caught a blurb on it last night on the news. Not much reported, kind of like you just posted. But the Chicoms are known to be active spies, stealing technology, etc...

I've been in that consulate building, it's on Harold Street. Was helping a Chinese immigrant, now with American citizenship, establish business connections in China. That was in 2012-13 when I was a business consultant with the SBDC (SBA).

Now, now...don't be posting stuff like this. It only heightens the already unacceptable bad PR for the Chicoms. Don't refer to the China Virus as the "China virus" because that causes undo resentment toward the awesome commie regime, which the Left tells us is really wholesome and righteous.

Isn't that right, Goosey, johnny, Jubru, and you others? Tell him how unfair it is to post the truth about the Chicoms. Doesn't serve the greater good, er, right?

They aren't interested in the whole story because it was on WND (and because there is no anti-Trump angle to the story). If WND reports it, it didn't happen even if there are videos, voice recordings and pictures.
