    Re: China

The new Indian prime minister Modi continues to make decisions that are particularly dangerous to India and by extension to the world. His recent concessions along the disputed China-India border in the Himalaya highlands positions the Chicoms to dominate the region. He also cost local Indian villages their historic/traditional farmlands. Officially it is declared to be a "no-man's land" but all of it is on the Indian side of the border. The Chicoms gave up nothing in "the deal." Militarily India has dismantled and removed all of their outposts from the region, while the Chicoms continue to man theirs along the border.

Local farmers are dependent on the pastures in the region to graze goats and cattle, and now they are banned from entering the zone.

Modi's press coordinator defended the move saying the prime minister seeks peace with China and wanted to eliminate a hot spot of conflict between the two nations. There have been frequent exchanges between the opposing armies in the area, with 80 Indian troops killed, about 300 wounded over the past 10+ years. The Chicom casualties are not known but are estimated to be higher. In one confirmed incident several years ago 48 Chinese soldiers were killed and 150 wounded in a battle that erupted in a mountain pass. An Indian colonel was killed by a Chicom sniper and that pissed off his men, an elite battalion of mountain troops, who rushed into the Chicom camp guns blazing.

China is suffering from a water shortage. Just read a report that 30% of its ground water is considered unsuitable for human use, for drinking water, of course and even for other uses such as in food production.

Our chemical engineer (a Tech grad, BTW) at Global Splash, Inc. read the report and says our water treatment unit would solve that problem for the Chicoms. But, I maintain we not consider dealing with them. Eff 'em! Their peasant population will rise up when thirst and starvation gives them no other choice.

Damn commies...screw up everything they touch. Too bad...

    Re: China

Xi has moved China closer to a war-footing with his recent political moves. He sacked dozens of moderates and replaced them with hardliners bent on invading Taiwan and generally taking a harder anti-West stance. Xi also removed economic advisors who have for decades been trying to move China into a market economy. And most of the economic growth/success China has enjoyed has been because of such reforms.

Western companies should pull out of China, stop investing there. Heck! invest in Central and South America helping to elevate those struggling countries and allowing those people to remain home.

Xi has moved the world closer to the edge of conflict.

Yep. Xi has nothing to lose now (he thinks).

China is no Russia in terms of military capability, either. They are capable of reaching out and touching someone without resorting to nukes.

I have always wondered why we don't keep more stuff in our hemisphere. Perhaps we could negotiate something with Mexico and others to stop the flow of illegals into America (and dangerous drugs) so Apple and others could set up their sweat shops there instead.

Wonder where we could find someone capable of negotiating such a deal? Hmmmm.

If memory serves, someone who is available wrote a book about it.

    Re: China

Chicoms getting bolder...over the past two years.

China has been engaged in illegal fishing activities around the world and for years, decades even. Nothing new there. But more recently, since the spring of 2021, they have grown bolder and more defiant. Recently, two US Coast Guard cutters confronted hundreds of Chinese fishing vessels off the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. As the US cutters approached, having announced they intended to board and search the boats for illegal fishing, about a dozen of the boats in a coordinated maneuver blocked the way, coming dangerously and recklessly close to a collision. This gave time for dozens of the fishing boats to make good their escape as they sped away.

Lt. Commander Hunter Stowes, onboard the USS James, said they were able to avoid a collision and added the Chinese have grown more defiant the past couple of years. Ecuador, which depends heavily on their fishing industry for economic stability, requested help from the international community to confront the fleets of Chicom fishing vessels engaged in illegal harvesting. The US entered into a cooperative agreement with other countries to help monitor illegal fishing around the world. This agreement was made during the Trump administration and has, until recently, been effective in curtailing illegal activities by the Chicoms. Maybe the Biden Klan made their own agreement with the Chicoms...

    Re: China

"Joe Biden cozies up to a brutal dictator and threat to world peace, Chicom Fascist leader Xi."

You know if Biden was a Republican that would be the headline in every libtard rag across the country. Worse! imagine if it were Trump who met with Xi.

I suppose Biden offered Xi, Hunter Biden, to serve as some kind of special advisor on "world peace," for a small price, of course, of which Sleepy Joe gets 10% for agency fees.
