Do we really have to play again?
Do we really have to play again?
Wow.... what a crushing loss...
Legit chance to win in 3 of the last 4 innings. Couldn’t push a run across. Tried to steal on a cannon arm. Bad service execution and bad coaching.
I’m too disgusted to prove it by way of looking up any individual player statistics but my summary opinion is that every player that we typically depend on for big players in key moments didn’t come through today or didn’t do their job in the field or didn’t pitch well. As if that wasn’t bad enough all by itself then you’ve got a coach who strategized his team into failing circumstances. This is history slapping Tech fans in the face saying, ‘are you paying attention? Do you want change?’
Yes please.
Our Friday and Sunday starters were weak. Combine that with the first two errors and the rest of the team including the coach was playing catch up baseball the rest of the game. We never played or coached smart today.
The good news is I made the right choice and stayed home to work and listen to the game instead of driving down there. Got a little excited when we tied it up, but lost faith when we got caught stealing instead of having the bases loaded with no outs. At that point I just accepted they we would play an elimination game tomorrow.
Yeah, I hate it for the loyal fans who invested the time and money to go.
We gave them FIVE outs on bunt attempts couple that with the 5 errors - that is 3 and 1/3 innings of additional offense opportunities that we did not have...
Basically that’s over 1/3 of a ballgame
I hate errors and I hate the bunt except on rare occasions
Really bad game management and bad baseball
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
This was such a poor display of baseball that you forgot the 3rd inning botched hit-and-run attempt that resulted in a Caught Stealing and then the straight Caught Stealing in the 10th. That's 2 more outs we gave them in addition to the errors and bunts. Tech was 0/2 stealing, and Marshall was 3/3 stealing.
At least tomorrow we will get to play Rice. I feel like we have a better chance against them than against Southern Miss. Win or lose, our chances of winning out are very, very slim.
I went back and counted, and I still might have missed one. Marshall, through BB or HBP, gave Tech base runners 10 free passes, and we scored 4 runs. That seems impossible to pull off, but somehow we managed to do it.
