The Indy Bowl committee has a long history of making bad decisions. They've proven over and over again that they are not really concerned about the bowl's best interests.
I rarely watch anything on ESPN, but for the most part they control our bowl viewing options.
They do and they have monopolized the market to where its impossible to run one independently or show on a different network. They sank the Heart of Dallas Bowl and even flooded the market to devalue the products. The Cotton Bowl was on Fox for several years until ESPN worked it out. They are a large part of why no one is willing to do New Years Bowls independent of their control.
Brett McMurphy: Army will play in the Independence Bowl in next bowl cycle in 2020, 2022 & 2024 seasons, if bowl eligible
Zach Barnett: Army is currently 1-1 in the Independence Bowl, losing to Auburn in 1996 and defeating Great Britain in 1783.
If it was Army vs Air Force, that could be huge for Louisiana. With Fort Polk and Barksdale, attendance could be good for that matchup.
This screams desperation.
