2020-25 C-USA Bowls

So Roy Lang was correct a month ago. The Pac 12 tie in is not a done deal. If they were to lose both P5 tie ins and their title sponsor after this year's game, I'm wondering what happens to the game moving forward. They may have no choice but the sell to ESPN Events on the condition the "Independence" name is always a part of the game.

ESPN Events could really force the Indy Bowl's hand. Because they have so much control over the G5 leagues from a bowl perspective they could freeze the Indy Bowl out if they really wanted to.

I was thinking yesterday this would be in the bowls best interest. The foundation could continue and hold many of the same events throughout the year in support of the bowl.

As much as I hate who runs it. I would be horrified by this. ESPN already runs too much of our lives.

The Indy Bowl committee has a long history of making bad decisions. They've proven over and over again that they are not really concerned about the bowl's best interests.

I rarely watch anything on ESPN, but for the most part they control our bowl viewing options.

They do and they have monopolized the market to where its impossible to run one independently or show on a different network. They sank the Heart of Dallas Bowl and even flooded the market to devalue the products. The Cotton Bowl was on Fox for several years until ESPN worked it out. They are a large part of why no one is willing to do New Years Bowls independent of their control.
