    Socialism

This lady says she doesn't want any of democrats' socialism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSdZwsXgcFg Laura Ingraham had a black conservative guy on tonight that's running for congress in South Carolina. He said there are a lot of blacks that are going to vote for Trump in 2020. There are a lot of conservative black leaders now that are supporting Trump. They're finally beginning to see that the democrats have never done anything for them.

    Re: Socialism

Actually Islam and Islamic countries are totally socialist systems run by a theocracy.
Just another socialist system that has failed it's people miserably to lift the wealthy social and political elitist; and doomed to fail.

    Re: Socialism

Just watched a video from back in May. Town Hall meeting hosted by Fox News. 2 socialist and 1 capitalist on the panel with guest appearances from other Fox contributors. The socialists want shared ownership in corporations so that everyone shares more of the wealth and not just board members and shareholders. Did they mention that people who buy stock, ownership, or start a company have to make an initial capital investment? Did they mention that ownership and management take risks and put their own money on the line? Did they acknowledge that in their model, the workers wages would decrease if productivity or profit margins were reduced? They already share in the profits through insurance, bonuses, and other benefits without assuming risk. Did they acknowledge people who work their way out of poverty and gain a position in the boardroom? No, they blow that off like it can’t happen for anyone else. Full blown socialism will not work and they can’t provide one logical argument for a place that it does work. Ignore them all.

Another fun activity is asking a supporter of socialism how they propose we pay for it. They squirm like a worm on a hook and then perform the most eloquent dodge you will ever see. “We should not worry about the cost, we should worry about people starving.”

Well there you have it. More craziness from the socialist and elitist Dems.
At least it was just an Obamaphone during that idiot's regimen.

These liberal clowns just love buying votes from the poor and their middle-class base.

Where do they come up with the concept that making everything “free” is a good idea? I understand wanting some things in life to be more affordable. Making everything free eliminates value.

How do you figure? “The best things in life are free”.

On a tangent, what are people going to do to earn money once AI and machines can do all the jobs in the economy?

If AI and machines can do all of the jobs, we won't need to earn money. We will all just focus on hobbies. Socialism will finally be a viable economic system. It would still have it's problems as certain resources would remain scarce, but it would probably approach current capitalism in effectiveness.

How would capitalism distribute the resources produced by AI in such an economy?

I always interpreted that quote to mean, “go outside and play with your kids. It’s more rewarding and it’s free.” (Just 1 example of the overarching meaning)

I just finished Origin by Dan Brown. While I don’t agree with his take on religion, I do find it instructive in the way I study my faith. If you have not read it, it is an interesting read on how AI may one day take over.

And is that not “value”? Does something not have value because it doesn’t have a monetary price?

AI is already here and it is only going to get stronger and more disruptive. Philosophically, it is the same as automation in the sense that is automating mental and physical tasks that humans used to do. It used to be that only lower skill jobs was getting replaced by machines, but the machines will increasingly take out higher skill jobs. With deep learning technologies, these machines can already figure some things out better than humans. Right now these “machines” enhance human productivity, but it really isn’t hard to imagine that at some point in the future (possibly for some people living today) machines will do all jobs better than humans, including their own programming.

Without going into the distractions of whether the AI will work for us or we work for it (to some extent, it is already the latter), are you guys still comfortable with capitalism in a world where AI produces goods and services for humans to consume? If so, what steps are you taking to prepare yourselves or your kids for the obsolescence of work?

Most goods and services would become commodities with fixed low prices or even free. We would move even more to an entertainment/artistic economy where people would pay extra to have certain things built by humans or tasks performed by humans. People would mostly spend their money on fashion/entertainment/luxury. I doubt we would be able to get rid of politicians either.
