People keep knocking North Texas, but they have 4 things Louisiana Tech does not have - a law school, a med school, money because of their new law school and med school (these alumni will put the most back into the school), and they have a market. We're stuck until we get, a the very least, a law school or a med school.

Plus North Texas is by in large a commuter school, they have some money, but a lot of the students are fair weather at best, and don’t value fees etc being added for athletics. Very good arts school, and that usually doesn’t equate to athletic power house.

We are not too far away from just changing "arts school" to "engineering school" and reduce the size by two-thirds and you have Tech.

I have read so many articles questioning if Willie Baker will be able to produce this year. They all seem to believe Baker and Ferguson played together, and Baker's productivity was because Ferguson was getting all of the attention.

It seemed to me that Baker was Ferguson's substitute. I can't remember a single time that Baker and Ferguson seemed to be rushing the quarterback together. Baker got his work in while Ferguson was taking a breather.

Am I wrong?

96, you are absolutely right. Baker was in on plays when Jaylon was not. He was more than an adequate sub. He may not have the numbers Ferguson had, but he will cause problems for every OL he lines up against.

Unless we have a different QB, the only thing we are “definitely” contending for is a 7-5 record + a bowl game.
