    Hurricane Barry

In case you haven't been following it, it is here at the moment, over western Louisiana. Although, as it always the case, those to the east of the eye get it much worse. The counter-clockwise rotation brings all the moisture out of the gulf. This one has, thankfully, petered out for us. Not like that nasty one in 2008, Gustav, which was still a bona fide 'cane when it got to us, with 85 mph sustained winds and 100 mph gusts. That one was rough.

Anyway, even though this Barry is as much a failure as a "bad azz" storm as another Barry was in his job, it is a historic landmark. This is the 50th hurricane to make landfall in Louisiana in recorded history.

How much rain in Natchitoches and Shreveport so far? Only .8 here in West Monroe. I realize we have a lot more on the way up.

Probably less than 2 inches total, thus far, from this system.

Been a strange storm. Usually the eye-wall, especially on the east side, packs the most punch. But the eastern eye passed by us without hardly a whimper.

Less than 3" here in WM. Wind could have been much worse to crops. This may end up being benifcial when it could have been devastating
