Someone told me while I was on campus that the baseball field used to be located where Hale Hall and Robinson is and that is why Mayfield Ave is curved because it followed the outfield fence. This picture just killed that idea.

That was the first baseball field where Rebel Oaks played - if you look at team phots from that era, you can clearly see Hale Hall's brick wall

That baseball field was located where the two tall dorms with the rocket were. It is now cleared for student use.

I hope they get with an experienced architecture firm who has designed baseball facilities. Surely, there are a few firms that specialize in that area. If I were the AD, I would visit several facilities that were built in the last 5 years and then ask those Ad's or coaches what they like and dislike about their new facility. There is no reason for us not to get this right...it should be a top notch facility when done, 2nd best in Louisiana.

Using local firm(s) connected to Tech. Doesnt mean that firms elsewhere with specific experience in stadium design is not consulted.

I don't get why there's a lack of communication to the alumni base. There's no Bulldog Blitz, no Tech in Town, and he doesn't engage with the fanbase via social media. How does he connect to the fanbase?

Who cares what the fan base thinks?

If what the fans thought mattered, there might have actually been some thought to all sports about, yknow, making gameday fun to attend.

No, shame on him for thinking that tweets count as outreach. I know that wasn’t the purpose of those tweets from squire, but how much else do we hear from him?
