Very true. But Skip is way different from what I hear.
There was lots of wasted space in the old configuration. Even adding two seats where each row angled in the middle of a section still wouldn't have added 200 more chairback seats.
No matter how much more space-efficient the new configuration may be, my point stands that at least 1,200 to 1,500 seats combined are going to be needed down the foul lines outside the footprint of the old grandstand to get to 3,000.
Look for 2,500 permanent seats in the grandstands at the max...

Soccer will be relocated to the current rugby field with softball on the west end of that

Really like the look of ECU. Could see something like that fitting nicely were JC is now.
I hope when everything is done, that we could dress up the intersection of Alabama/Tech drive. Maybe add some brick or faux-brick crosswalks.

I have heard that too. From memory, the rugby field doesn't seem big enough to fit both. Also the Joe entrance street from Tech Drive may be pushed further south.
That looks great. It would be wonderful if they can match the brick crosswalks in the enterprise campus. I wish they would do it throughout all of campus.
The rugby field is definitely not big enough. They will have to expand it to accommodate soccer dimension, which means Stadium Blvd. either being relocated, shrunk to two lanes, or removed altogether.
I do hope the new stadium has some standing room kinda up and beind the chairbacks...hopefully, the entire stadium is chairbacks, and we have some "sweet" suites...

I like the looks of bricks. But the faux bricks are, in my opinion, cheap-looking.
Either do proper bricks, or just paint the crosswalk. I dont know quite what it is, but the imprinted concrete just looks to me like ... legos.
