What's the strategy here? When he went after the "squad", they were locked in a battle with Pelosi. That was clearly a strategic blunder...should've let them tear each other apart. All I can think with the Cummings stuff is that it changes the coverage from the "squad".

I like him going after Cummings. He's one of the biggest POS in government. He's been telling lies about Trump for over 2 years. He was way over due.

He is responsible for the race care being almost unplayable. That's helping him, not hurting him. His "method" has been consistent. Every time the TDS peeps think they have him he causes them to lose focus by making another outlandish tweet or statement.
Even Trump haters won't ignore their pocketbook.

I think Trump is immune to the race card because it has ZERO effect on him. The more the TDSers scream and holler about it, the smaller they look.
The race card has always been about bluffing someone into doing something. Usually a GOP wimp would back-off a position, apologize, sometimes resign or not seek re-election, and all because of some BS charge of racism. Dems got use to using the race card as a weapon. Trump is unaffected by it all.
Now, some voters might (probably will) be influenced by the race card, BUT! it might be a wash as it affects vote changes. Just as many independent/disgruntled Dem voters are likely to jump on the Trump express as might jump off of it because of the playing of the race card. So, ultimately, a wash. The only caveat to that is where, in which states, the changes occur.
Let me hasten to add, I have always thought, and still think, Trump needs to tone down his rhetoric. It's usually enough to tweak someone/something and have the other side go ballistic...then play the victim. Like: "I just posted a fact and man! y'all see the names they are calling me!? Wow!"
It already got overplayed. With Trump they have used it so many times that they look foolish playing it. They bring out haters like Sharpton and Jackson who black folks no longer respect. Then you have an untouchable do nothing like Cummings who could have accomplished MUCH more for his district by sitting down with Trump. Instead he joins his merry band of fools to bash Trump and call him a racist. The race card has been overplayed so much that it means nothing. These people know Trump is not a racist.
I think the Squad deal was because he didn't want the party distancing themselves from them and their far-left ideas. He wanted them to rally together. Honestly this is a purely political thing as distancing themselves from the fringe would have been better for the country.
With Cummings I read a theory that i happen to believe. Cummings was part of the group that is trying to get Kushner and Ivanka's communications, and I think Trump was honestly just lashing out against him.
Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, is taking Cummings to Baltimore tomorrow to show him what a shithole parts of Baltimore is. Cummings has just ignored it for the past years he's been in office. A young black lady activist made a video that was shown on FNC all day. The trash in the projects is just unbelievable. Looks like the garbage trucks don't go in the area. This is what you get for living under democrat leadership.
