US Olympic Womens Volleyball In Bossier Aug 2-4

The US Olympic womens volleyball team is playing in Bossier this weekend, along with Argentina, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan. It's the real deal, OUR TEAM. Playing to go to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Playing Bulgaria Saturday at 5, Argentina Sunday at 1, all at CenturyLink. It was amazing to watch Friday night: incredible athletes, agile, quick, powerful. It's really something to see. Afterwards the team comes up into the stands for photos with fans, conversations. If you have daughters, granddaughters, or want to see unreal good, OLYMPIC LEVEL COMPETITION, come on out.Very fan\family friendly.

Our team worked out at the local YMCA Wednesday. Seeing one of our volleyball players doing multiple sets of one legged step-ups onto a 24 inch box with a 225 lb barbell was eye popping.

Get over to see it live if at all possible. First time the US has hosted this event, and it's here in NW La.

Nail biting win Saturday vs Bulgaria in five games, Bulgaria wins games 1 and 3, USA games 2, 4, 5. Long, long rallies, great saves and digs: both defenses were so "on" it was hard to make a kill. Big crowd. Only 6 of these Olympic qualifiers in the world, this us the first EVER in the USA. Win today against #10 Argentina Tokyo Olympics is assured, lose, have to go into pool play later.

And win it was! Three set sweep over Argentina. Argentina looked like a good squad, but the U.S. became more dominant as the match wore on.

CONGRATULATIONS ON GOLD for our US Women's Volleyball team. Amazingly intense, emotional, patriotic, appreciative team. Extra special for those of us blessed to have seen them live in Bossier two years ago in an Olympic qualifying weekend.
