Personally I'd like to see Teddy and Luke switch places. Teddy is a clown, so he can clown it up on the sidelines bringing listeners interesting stories. Luke should know a little more about the Xs and Os.
(provided he doesn't wear his cap backwards... )
Teddy also serves as the spotter for Dave. If you have not noticed, he often corrects Dave on miss-calls of players and player numbers. What the radio network needs is a true spotter in the booth.
Obviously some don't appreciate Teddy's sense of humor. I, and many other fans do. I also appreciate his love for Tech which is not held by many of our employees who make a great deal more than him and do much less for Tech.
I agree that Teddy loves Tech. I can be a ham and corny as well, but I will never be a color commentator for a D-1 football team nor should I. That being said, Teddy has his followers and also he has folks such as myself that don't particularly care for his brand of humor in the radio booth. I believe we need someone that can add a brand of comments that are specific to the game being played before them.
We have had an assortment of personalities at that job in the past. Dan Newman was factual but sometimes a little terse. Steve Davison was very good with keeping listeners in the game with good insight, but his voice was less than suitable to being the ideal color guy. Others have come and gone as well, but these two stick in my mind as closer to what we need in the booth. I do believe Luke can make a very good color guy. Maybe after he cuts his teeth on the sidelines, he can move up to the booth with Dave.

Luke will do great IMHO.
Teddy is the best thing to happen to Tech football coverage since I've been a fan (1994).
Glad Luke will join the team this year.

How old is Dave?
https://www.shreveporttimes.com/stor...me/2769040002/ I don't know when he started, but if he was 18, he'd be at least 75.In his 57th season as a broadcaster, Nitz works in a booth named for him at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.
Surprised at the Teddy hate. I love Teddy. Excited to see Luke back involved with the program. Hope his role continues to expand.
We need to groom the next Voice of the Bulldogs.
I love Teddy and think he's hilarious but he leaves a lot to be desired as a color guy. I think Luke will be good on the sideline.
I love our broadcast team. Wish Luke could be on the sideline for all the games. Guess the homefront still requires home than attending road games.
