7 wins, but have have no idea which games because we will win at least 1 we aren’t supposed to have a shot and lose one that we physically can’t lose.

The whole athletic program is in snooze mode.
Welcome to Louisiana Tech University. We have top notch aviation, engineering, and architecture programs. We think we still have athletics, but no really knows for sure. If they do, we assume apathy, mediocrity, and complacency abound.
On paper this is a cupcake schedule with 10 wins and a trip to the C-USA Championship Game written on it.
(I’ve not looked at the strength ratings, but this schedule has to be one of the easiest in FBS this year.)

8-4 seems doable by Skip. Bowl birth and win would give us a 9-4 record.
My mind wants gram to beat us so Skip is forced to make a change, heart says beat them.

UTEP, Rice, and UTSA will be awful. La Tech has JMar. WKU visits the Rock finally. That's 5 conference wins. UNT, UAB, and FAU have the talent to beat us, but 2 of those 3 are at home. The FAU game could very well be a trap game.
No one gives us a shot versus State or Bama. Bama I totally understand, obviously, but State doesn't impress me, especially their offense. Their great defense from last year graduated a lot and they lost their DC, but they'll have talent. I really like our chances here.
8 wins seems safe, plus or minus luck, wherever that may fall. I really like my defense and my offense has big potential with a new OC.
Texas knocks everyone on the traveling squad out for the season except J’Mar. this gives skip the opportunity he has been waiting for and clones Smith and fields and entire team of rockstars against Grambling... he breaks out his secret strategy of winning 3-2 on the leg of our kicker.

We have been stacking for 4-5 years now. Time to show out, Holtz
I predict we'll go 6-6 in regular season, and 6-7 after our first bowl loss in six years.
On his best day, J'Mar won't lose a game, but he'll never be the reason we win a game. This team has mediocre talent at far too many positions for this to be a special year.
I'm sticking with 7-5 and then a 6th straight bowl win for 8-5.
CUSA is pathetic. Our OOC is very weak this year and we SHOULD easily go 3-1. But we'll probably slip up, 2-2. I laughed when I saw Champ having us at 0% to beat USM...too true!
As for the overall Athletic Department...well, we have a Southland Conference AD, what did you expect to happen?
8--4 should be expected this year with the cupcake schedule we have.
I am expecting a disappointing 7-5 though.
Anything above 8-4 and I will feel like it was a good year.
