We were 111th nationally on offense last year? 111th!? On offense? Is this the same Louisiana Tech known for lighting up the scoreboard? Like leading the nation in scoring at least most of the season as recently as 2016. Well...good thing we have a rock star at QB or we'd really struggle on offense.

If youre Texas you shouldn't lose to us and with our returning gunslinger why would any of us expect an upset. Skip is a no-show at these games. Talent is present just not depth, so there must be a great equalizer and lately we don't have one as in a pitch and catch machine that can move the chains. However, the rumblings in camp is that we are looking good offensively. Hey, I guess we shall see. I'd take a narrow lose as a huge victory at Texas.

Before the Big Game: "They just don't respect us! We'll show them!"

After Skip lets us get our shit kicked in: "Huh. I guess they were being nice when they said all those mean things."

I love the part in the article: "Holtz in his 7th season has taken the team to 5 consecutive bowl wins, but has yet to win a conference championship. Could this be the year?? Probably not...."

When we were leading the nation in offense, we sucked on on defense....Defense gets better, we suck on offense... I think it’s more about ball control. If we can score quick, we better have a defense that can hold the other teams to short possessions. If the defense can’t hold we need a running game and the ability to control the ball. The game of football is not hard, play to your strengths. Most coaches probably know this.....

Easier said than done. I feel like we have recruited to be balanced all across the board. We need creativity on both sides of the ball.

There is no excuse for Tech to be 111th in offense...none! A bad year for us should be in the 40-50th range. So, our defense gets better and our offense has to necessarily get worse? Why is that? With a better defense our offense SHOULD get even better! The D would give the O more opportunities to be on the field and also hand them some short fields.

Looking just at the offense, was has changed? Maybe our skilled positions took a step back, say comparing Henderson, Taylor, Dixon to the WRs and RBs the past two seasons. But, so much to drop from #1 to #111!? I don't think so. Was it the OL? Again, perhaps a little drop off, but not enough to account for such a fall in the rankings. Which brings us to the single most important position on offense...the QB. Has the drop off there been so great that we go from #1 to #111? Probably not, but it is the single biggest reason.

For the last 2 seasons, LA Tech just hasn't been able to score. We've talked about it, a lot. The stats prove it. We saw proof of this in 2017 and 2018. I blame the knucklehead OC Todd Fitch.

That said, Skip Holtz (and Todd Fitch) needs to spend a solid hour EVERY DAY of practice, working on his team's RED ZONE OFFENSE. He's simply GOT to get his team comfortable playing AND SCORING in the RED ZONE. He needs to build their confidence in the RED ZONE by making 'em practice and spend time there. Our guys need to have the confidence to know that when they enter the RED ZONE, they CAN and WILL ring the cash register.

Touchdowns in the Red Zone?? Nah, I’d rather make sure we give our kicker short opportunities for 3.

AMEN to this!!!!!!! This should be PRIORITY #1 and should have been all last year, as well. Do we just not have the weapons or are we just stagnate with our plays. I think it is a little of both. We have a QB that just can't get it done and a play caller that is scared to do anything but the predictable..... We HAVE to see this improve!!!!!!

We were 84th in Total Offense (382.1 yards/g); still not up to standard.

    Texas was 57th (411.3 yards/g)

    https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/...ent/team/21/p2

No idea where the author got his numbers from.

Maybe take 5 seconds to google a stat that doesn't sound right before getting ticked off?
