I hope we play nice.

That's your read on it. My point was that even when they brought, according to you, half of what they formerly brought, that was still, far and away, our best attended game of that year.
The Southern/McNeese game drew a record crowd of more than 20K. I don't think we'll top that given the weather and general apathy.

The start time will reduce potential attendance by 30-40%. Im guessing 25K+ was the potential at night but less 30% puts it around 17-19K. But its on tv in the middle of all the other games so maybe will will exceed 25K all together. Promoting the brand while dying of heat stroke
Hoping the new ticket procedure for students does not create problems or reduce attendance. Student ID no longer sufficient for entry. They must now use an app to acquire an electronic ticket. Lot of students apparently do not know.
I picked up kids passes yesterday. While I was in there, I saw the best and the worst of our ticket sales team. The best was that the staff knew the products and knew the navigation of the system very well. The worst was that a gentleman was there asking for his season tickets and he was informed that his tickets were on hold because they had not received his LTAC donation. He was having difficulty understanding that it cost him $250/seat + the actual ticket cost for his 8 tickets. To an older guy who used to write an LTAC donation for $2500 and then purchase as many seats as he wanted, this was confusing. The products themselves and the way our admin collects funds makes it harder. On the topic of student admission, I saw a really good solution presented by the staff. Student had received the bar code, but was going to be attending the game with non students. In order for him to use the same gate as his friend/family, they issued him a paper ticket after scanning his bar code. Done and done.
I cannot answer for that. I agree it is stupid. However, the student workers did an excellent job working within the confines of what they are allowed to do.
The attendance will be absolutely terrible...unless Grambling makes up the difference from our folks not coming. It's opening weekend of dove season as well so many of our regulars will be afield.

You are tying hard to make this move seem like a good one.
When will they inform students that they won't be able to get in the game with a student ID? Students MUST go through the motions that have only been shared on instagram so far. I guess being on the EllAyeTechSports site is all they need other than instagram. Did anybody tweet it?
