Is $500K the "going rate for two days rental? Non-rental expenses would be for cleanup, security, etc.?

It sounded like politics got involved in costs here, but I'm assuming the rates for the non-select schools is the same?

Final question...what was the rate for two days five years ago?

In July the select schools formed the LSA - The Louisiana Select Association. In future years they will sell their own sponsorships. I think it's pretty clear that they will eventually control enough of the pie to where the non-select schools will have to leave the Dome, as well. It just won't be affordable.
So, how is the site determined? The highest remaining seed gets the choice? If it's a New Orleans area school Tulane's Yulman Stadium would be a good choice, with Tad Gormley also a possibility. What if it's Byrd, then Indy Stadium? (not that it's likely to be Byrd this go-around).

Back in the day...the 1970's...the highest remaining seed hosted the championship game at their regular homefield. So, nothing new here.

I know that very few of the schools below AAAA make money on a Dome trip

Our last trip in 2017 vs Logansport we cashed a check for less than $10,000 (I want to say it was $9,730)

I know that a school can rent JAS for less than $3,000 for a day

Trent Ginn (RB/QB/PK) out of Farmerville is a baller.

Short -5’5” but reminds me so much of a Hunter Lee. Great vision and running ability. Quick. Can hit the corner and turns it up a notch. Plays very confidently.

Junior this year, but will be interesting to watch develop in 2020. I think he could make a great x player.

SIGHTS & SOUNDS: District 2-5A champ West Monroe dominated the District 1-5A champ Capt. Shreve Gators Thursday night in Round 2 of the LHSAA State Playoffs 38-21 at The Don. Love the Cayden Pierce (6-2,220) play at 1:25 mark. youtu.be/ZwO7CobI_hE

    Rummel 35 St Aug 34

Drove length of the field to score winning TD with 20 seconds left. Defense got pushed around. Won’t last long in the playoffs like that.

    Next up Bro Martin

Lost our star running back on the first play of the game and Basile scored with 0:42 seconds left and converted on the two-point try to down Haynesville 28-27 -

Looking forward to next year as my son is slated to be the starting qb as a junior and our class numbers start to come back up to the normal 42-45 kids (we had 31 this year)

On another note, I'm so glad OCS beat Calvary - karma is a BITCH when you try to buy your kids a ring....

But your Rummel boy Israel Tucker dropped the winning pass at UAB.

    Oh sure, blame me!

Actually...made me doubly sick about it. Gut punched.

Meanwhile former Rummel player Jamar Chase has set new records in receiving at LSU...

Game wasn't that close, we stopped playing midway in the 4th qtr.

Catholic BR beat Curtis 14-0, very impressive defense. Gonna be VERY tough next week.

Rams roll over Airline. Seems Airline has some composure issues.

Sorry to hear the Rebels lost. I was hoping for a Ram versus Rebel final.

    Re: Prep Season 2019

Just arrived back in West Monroe from Destrehan, a 4-hour, 20-minute drive.

The Rebels answered the bell to tie the game at 17 with 2:23 to go. That was just too much time for the talented Wildcats to have, even though the Rebels defense was awesome in the 2nd half up to that point.

Very, very proud of my #1, Cayden Pierce. The senior Rebel Fullback/H-Back carried the ball 21 times for 96 yards and two TDs.

As the Destrehan-winning FG was made at the buzzer, I'm proud to say I was able to hug my very emotional son immediately on the field, where he, yes, had left it all.

Does he deserve a chance at the next level? I'd love to find out. And, so would he.

Rummel 12-0 vs. Catholic BR 12-0 for all the marbles, next week at Tulane's Yulman Stadium. Best two teams in Louisiana, and really the best two in the South, and two of the best in the entire nation. Everything else is just rabble.

Oh, you don't think so? You think your public school team is better? Fine, prove it! Let's combine all of 5A into one playoffs like it should be. But you won't, you're all chicken shit! Have to have your own pitiful little worthless tournament just so the poor old public schools can get trophies too. Pathetic.

Nice to see Haughton roll into the semifinals with future Bulldog CJ McWilliams.

Especially rewarding in Friday's 34-14 win over Mandeville was three juniors that I'd taught in 8th grade Sunday School. One threw a touchdown pass to the second, and the third ran back a pick six interception. My 35th year to work the chains at Haughton. Long trip to Destrehan coming up.
