We will actually be working toward big time when our fans stop thinking about visiting fans traveling well. That's not a good thing for the "home team". Especially when our AD sells them seats on the 50.

I like how we are currently schedule - H/H with AAC schools like SMU & Tulsa. Now we just need to get Tulane, Houston, Memphis on the schedule. I wouldn't mind have ULM/ULL on the schedule every 10 years or so (actually wouldn't mind ULL more often, but not annually.
For us to have 6 home games, we are usually going to need to play FCS. I want to play regional FCS teams (not South Carolina State). So that means having Grambling, Southern, Northwestern State in there. I don't think we need to be playing those schools EVERY 3/4 years, because the novelty wears off. However, I would mind having a rotation that included UCA, SFA, Southeastern, McNeese (I can't believe we haven't scheduled them), Nichols and maybe other SLC schools.Nothing at all against Grambling (I recall actually taking a class there under Dr. Mangham), but I just don't see how Tech can gain by playing them or starting a series.
I wish we were in the MWC.....I miss Boise, Fresno, Utah State, Hawaii. If there is a way into the MWC, we need to find it. I know the travel probably sucked but as a fan, it is as good as it gets outside a P5 conference.
The sunbelt and CUSA teams just are not exciting. I am ready for the top CUSA and Sunbelt teams to break off and make a mire exciting conference.
I would recommend that all hires come from P5 schools - especially on the administrative side.
FIU and FAU were huge mistakes.

The apathy of our fan base is only rivaled by Serena Williams apathy concerning her on court wardrobe.
I see on Twitter that Skip and Tommy took the band some Blue Bell today.
Great post all the way around. I miss playing Boise, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah St and especially Fresneck St. THAT WAS FUN FOOTBALL!!
LA Tech's leadership ain't what it used to be. Everything's measured, and the risks we take nowadays are few. The idea of signing a Home/Home with BYU is totally foreign to a guy in his mid 30's who's biggest experience before coming here was at McNeese St. Derek Dooley & Bruce Van De Velde were very good for our athletic programs because they had experience at big time schools. VDV hired head football coach Sonny Dykes in 2010 and head men’s basketball coach Mike White in 2011, both of who coached their respective teams to top 25 national rankings, WAC Championships and both were selected as WAC Coach of the Year. It was also Dooley and VDV who spearheaded our largest athletic facilities upgrades in school history.
Our athletics program needs a big shot in the arm.
Nothing will be solved until the fans at the game let Dr. Guice knows that he is killing all of our sport programs.
Guice is the worst president in Tech's history, well, at least in the last 50 years or so. He has done nothing! Just collecting his big fat paycheck and not rocking the boat.
Oh yes, I remember very well all the angst against Reneau, whom I defended as a good overall president for Tech. And those same DR critics who held up Guice as the second-coming. My, my...
Now the gravel lot by the Tac is reserved, what????? I've tailgated by those trees since 2012. I was close to turning around and going home. What reason is it reserved????
