Tech was lucky to win this game. GSU outplayed us, was better prepared, and certainly in the 2nd half coached circles around us. They have 22 fewer scholarships yet it was Tech that wore down in the 2nd half.

    He loves to say "compete"...

"I thought both teams showed incredible resolve – competitive nature – to stay out there and just keep competing the way they were."

He was impressed by the 20-0 thing...

"For our football team, I was really pleased with the focus we came into the game with," said Holtz. "At halftime, it was 20-0. We had punted on the opening drive and then went touchdown-field goal-touchdown-field goal."

    More lipstick...

"I certainly think there are a lot of lessons to learn, because we came out in the second half – and I don't know if our players were trying to do the math and saying 'You know what, we're on a 40-to-nothing day,' but the Grambling players came out and said, 'You know what? We gotta roll up our sleeves. We gotta compete.' I thought they came out with a fire and an energy and a competitive nature in the second half.

Smith is a "mediocre" QB who could, with real coaching, actually be a "good" QB. Alas, he is stuck with the worst excuse of a play-caller in the nation. It's not just the play-calling though, it's the playbook itself. It should be tossed on the ash heap and a real OC hired. That won't happen as long as the Three Stooges: Guice, TMAC, Skippy, are around. So, oh well!

It also takes a willingness to learn. We have a QB who constantly waves and points at the receivers like he has never thrown an errant pass. Rattay could have made him into something if he could have checked his ego.

We have been playing super boring football that is way too conservative the last two years. Skip promised to keep the up-tempo high octane offense and he has broken his promise and failed miserably of late. Skip should have poured it on and got our offense in a rhythm/groove playing against Grambling. He should have unleashed JMar, who has played well the last two weeks in all honesty, by running him and throwing the deep ball along with crossing routes. Ditch all of the BS bubble screens every pass. And our OL coach has got to move on. If this continues the crowds will dwindle severely.

How in the heck can Skip sleep at night knowing he was out-coached by Grambling?

I drive almost 3+ hours to get to these games, spending the night, plus pay a high price sitting in the DAC. This crappola has got to stop!

I know some may scoff at it, but yes, unleash J’Mar. J’Mar attempted/made one pass on the first drive of the second half.

In the second half he was 4/6, for 40, 18, 14, and -6 yards... Gonna need context on that last one, anyone? Assuming its one of those genius sideways plays but perhaps he was chased from the pocket. I don’t remember.

Anyway... Pass down field. Worry about bleeding clock when its more than a 3 score game. I know our defense needed rest. So the offense needed to put the game out of reach so they can actually rest them. It was ugly but they did their job through 3 quarters, the offense should have had the score in a position to where that 4th quarter touchdown was just a garbage time score.

Bleeding the clock is fine when you know when to do it.

Lot of folks get out coached by Fobbs. He’s the real deal. With 85 D1 players, I think his teams would be scary good.

With our players, we should’ve covered the 30 point spread.

I agree. When he speaks I actually want to hear what he has to say. Holtz is the SOS every week. Stick a quarter in him and he comes up for air every time he says, "Talk about a (insert third person)"

I would entertain taking a chance on him if we had the opportunity. He wouldn’t even have to move.
