I’ll second scenario 3.
Most likely it is because Arkansas said they may want to move it as part of the original contract discussions. If anyone thinks we dictated the game would be in Little Rock from the beginning as part of the deal, then I want some of what they are smoking. Then Arkansas could have nicely said, "Sure you don't have to go along with the move, but it will be the last contract you sign with Arkansas in any sport as long as this administration is here."
No, no, I'm sure the conspiracy route is the more likely reason. Good grief.
Then why not just say, Arkansas asked us to move the game so we did? (BTW, I said Diaz above. It was Isabella)
Our AD was whispering (not in public) that Arkansas needed us to move it to help them facilitate a late contract with Alcorn to play in Little Rock. Us moving our game to Fayetteville was announced 4/4/15. Their contract with Alcorn was announced 9/12/15 and the press release stated that Alcorn had the option of Fayetteville or Little Rock.
Whatever happened, at the very least we should have gotten more money to move the game to Little Rock. It certainly cost us more to get there and stay there.
Not sure why fans expecting our AD to be transparent is calling it a conspiracy. Good grief.
Here is what I found, and it says the contract put the location at the discretion of Arkansas.

"The contract stipulates for the game to be played either on campus in Fayetteville or in Little Rock at the discretion of the University of Arkansas. However, the Razorbacks also have switched the location of their Sept. 3 game against Louisiana Tech from Little Rock to Fayetteville, indicating the Alcorn State game is likely destined for War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock."
I guess it doesn't matter. If you think we are in a position to make demands of the P5 payday teams we play, then this whole discussion is doomed anyway.
LSU paid NSU an additional $100,000 to move their game back 2 weeks (20% increase).
