Just to further the NY6 talk...
It is unlikely any G5 team will finish 12-0, like UCF did the past two years, or 13-0 as they won their conference title game, so it will be a 12-1 G5 team, at best. I can see Appy State being in that conversation, at 12-1, with their only loss @ South Carolina. SMU too, with one regular season loss, probably either @ Memphis or @ Navy, but beating a ranked Cincy to finish 12-1. Or, flip it, and an 11-1 Cincy beating SMU to go 12-1. But then! one-loss Boazy and San Diego State figure in the picture too.
The point is...you don't see CUSA or The MAC in this conversation. If either Tech or UAB run the table to finish 12-1, we won't be close enough in the rankings to factor in. By then, a one-loss Tech could be ranked 20th-ish. But one loss teams already mentioned will be 7-9 places higher.
