You haven't been quiet on J'Mar in a long time. Neither me, nor you, know what routes are called. I never said he was great. He's certainly good enough to beat just about everyone on our schedule if the play-calling isn't crap. If that's not good enough for you, I don't know what to say to you.
Don't rewrite history. You keep talking about what a great game J'Mar had against USM last year, when the WORLD says otherwise. Here's a quote from the attached article on last years Tech vs USM game:

"Louisiana Tech (7-4, 5-2) struggled on offense in the second half and managed just 3 points on a Bailey Hale field goal in the fourth quarter. Hale’s miss of a 29-yarder in the third quarter proved costly for the Bulldogs.

Louisiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith completed his first nine passes, but managed to hit just 18 of his final 34. He finished with 243 yards passing, a touchdown and no interceptions."

Three (3) points in the whole 2nd half? That's the same old story, Johnny; J'Mar just can't score. From the same article:

"With (Jack) Abraham providing a steady hand at quarterback, Southern Miss (5-5, 4-3) rallied to topple Louisiana Tech 21-20 Saturday, keeping the team’s bowl hopes alive headed into the regular season finale at UTEP. Abraham’s biggest pass of the game may have come on USM’s final possession of the game when he rolled to his right on third-and-5 and found Biloxi product Tim Jones for a 12-yard completion and a first down."

So, enough about what a great game J'Mar (27/43, 243 yds, 1 TD) had against Southern Miss. Yes, J'Mar had a 62.8% pass completion rate. But Abraham finished the same game 24 of 29 (82.76%) for 195 yds, a passing TD, a rushing TD, AND THE WIN. Can a QB's performance even get any better than THAT? So, just stop the nonsense about J'mar playing better than Abraham.

I gave him his entire first year as a starter when it was obvious he was being coached not to run (not by Rattay). It doesn't matter which routes are called. He is looking at the receiver and either throws at their feet or misses them by 10 yards and he blames the receiver. That's mechanics not missed plays. Still, you don't show up your receivers on the field you talk to them on the sidelines or with the coaches. Not the rockstar. He puts a towel on his head and sits by himself.

Don't rewrite my post. I said he was good. I have never called him great. I was there, and, on that day, he was better than Abraham. His numbers were made worse by some pivotal drops paired with our HC playing for field goals...which, had we made them, would've won the game.

Our run game is killing the offense more than pass game is. Mostly due to the plays, the RBs chosen by the coaches for those plays, and RBs losing the ball during those plays.

J'Mar had a QB rating of 79 and Jack was 62.5 in that game according to ESPN. QB didn't win the game. Holtz strategy gave them the last 2 games.

You have me confused with somebody else. I've never been an Abraham fan. I just tell what really happened with our POS coach who only cares to be right even if he isn't. Good QB's don't miss the easy throws then blame the receiver on the field. What grade are we in? Show me a college QB that acts like our prima donna QB. I have NEVER seen one at Tech before the rock star.

Change of subject, but I thought Allen had a solid showing yesterday. I only went to one scrimmage in fall camp, but I thought he had the best rhythm of all the QBs.

I have no confidence that Holtz will ever play the best QB on our team. Not that Smith wasn't/isn't, but the fact that Smith was the best he could get two years ago says it all.

Two TDs against Grambling and 4 against BG is just sad.

I understand your point about his premature crowning of Jmar. I really do. That's not Jmar's fault though. I don't think there's been another QB on the roster who is potentially better until this season. Had Abraham stayed, I think he would have gotten a shot. I couldn't care less about it now though. Allen is a guy who impressed me for next season (hopefully).

I have been having issues listening to other teams this year; Florida Gators, NC Tar Heels, UT Longhorns. It's not just Tech. Seems like now that Learfield and IMG have merged it's one screwed up broadcast after another. So I don't see that this issue is on TMac.

Agreed. On that note, why the heck do they keep sending Dancy up the middle? He is a turn and burn specialist and I think maybe one play played to that strength against BG?
