And this nonsense in California...what am I saying!!!!??? California = nonsense!... has no, none, zero, nada legal bearing on players being able to make money. College athletes in California, in any state, do not need the state's permission to get paid to make a commercial. But, the NCAA will frown on it big time. Now, the institutions in CA, USC, UCLA, Fresneck, et al can choose to leave the NCAA, but that will crush their athletic departments and cause the athletes to go to schools out of state.
What this whole "players should be paid" nonsense has done, and is doing, is continue to drive casual fans away.
