Heard they have interest in Napier.

Man, the rumor mill is spinning hard. Just had a buddy text me and said he heard Holtz name mentioned in the Miss St discussion. Not sure of source.
Miss St is likely the only team other than Kansas who would hire such a goofy control freak.
Twitter is all the buzz about Skip Holtz going to Mississippi State. There's not much talk about Nappier or Dykes without mentioning Holtz.

I could see him being a candidate, especially if they can't land Napier or Monken.
Have you considered those Dogs?
OMG! I find myself concerned Holtz might leave for Moo State, which many of their fans seem to think is a done deal.
He got that elusive 10th win...one of the items on the check list...and I find myself more hopeful better things are yet to come. Hmmm....
Holtz wouldn’t last 2 seasons at MSU. He almost didn’t last more than one season at LA Tech. The MSU community can’t afford to wait around 4 or 5 years for Skip’s rebuilding process to take hold. They need results early and often in the SEC. That’s just not Skip’s style. It would be a match made in hell.
However, if Skip is looking for a big retirement package to end his career on, signing on with MSU would be perfect. If he can get a guaranteed 5-year deal totaling $13M to $18M with a strong buyout, he can afford to have his career end early and retire early. Heck, it beats working another 10-12 years for the same comp.
But what’s good for Skip isn’t necessarily good for Miss State.
Manny Diaz hires Sonny Dykes’ OC at SMU. Good hire!
Any head coach who is doing well where they are currently would be a fool for taking the job at Mississippi State. it's quiet obvious that their expectations are unrealistic. They didn't even give Moorhead his 3rd year which is usually when a coach finally puts his own recruits on the field. Instead, they expected him to do something great with a team recruited by someone else. Holtz, Nappier, and Bill Clark would be idiots to even consider the job, and I don't think any of them are idiots.
So if Mississippi State were to offer Napier $4 million a season he should turn it down? I'm curious - for anyone who knows - how many of the Cajun head coaches over the past 60 years have left that job and gone on to life-changing money at another school? How many have not eventually been fired?
