CUSA is a hot mess. Four or so teams have a reasonable chance of winning this conference and not because any of them are great teams.

All group of 5 conferences are top heavy. None are strong top to bottom. Outside of Boise and UCF there are no perennial programs that can break the top ten and 0 programs in all of G5 that can break the top 4 in BCS. The gap b/t the top 4 and the best G5 team is 20 pts. SO do we need (2) national championships under the BCS umbrella but then again it wouldnt be under the BCS umbrella if it werent competing for the BCS title. The current state of college football is that the haves will have more and the have nots have peaked and as the money gets bigger and bigger with tv deals, paying players, etc..... the gap b/t the P5 and G5 is only gonna get bigger. G5 conferences play for conference championships and bowl games with a lot of mediocre football along the way. Unless the P5 and G5 split and form a separate playoff, much like LHSAA, then the best the G5 school will accomplish is perhaps a NYD bowl game.
Hmm....I wonder how our BB&B "Abe haters" are feeling about little ole Jack now.
"Jack Abraham leads the league in passing yards per game, and Adams, Watkins, and Harris are all game-breakers".
Someone nailed it earlier in this thread:
Schools like Miss State, Baylor, Kansas State, Iowa State, Arizona State, etc. have little chance at a national championship.
The are about 12 teams that have a realistic shot at the national championship.
It won’t be until the ADs at the rest of the P5 schools ring the bell will things change.
It will happen during the next economic downturn. College athletics is a huge financial bubble and it will bust.
We better be ready when it does because the P5 super elites will firm their own conferences - and about 1/3 of current P5 teams will have to merge in with G5 schools.
