Based on the info below, the outside world's perception of the current team is not good, even though it is 4-1 and the program has won 5-straight bowl games. (I know. It is hard to believe!)

Tech’s average ranking is 78.75, placing it just at the top edge of the bottom 40% of FBS football at 39.4%. If Tech keeps winning, those numbers will go up. But as it stands now, Tech is viewed as a below average team in the opinion (or rating formula) of these organizations. The good news for sharky and the sunshine pumpers is that we can say Tech is the best of the worst based on these outside ratings.

No matter how your spin it, though, the opponents that Tech has defeated are not good teams. They are near or at the bottom of these lists, as is most of the future opponents. And from an objective standpoint, it does not matter how good Rice looked in its games, 0-5 is 0-5.

And as you can see, C-USA as a whole is not highly regarded. The leading C-USA team is barely in the top half of the rankings in only four of the polls, with an average ranking of 68. That is alarming.

I still think we haven't lived up to our potential this year. Hopefully we can put it together during the regular season and not wait for the bowl game. Everything is still in front of us. Just need to get it together.

Amen to your post! I am obviously negative on a number of things so far this season as well. And yes we and I miss our high flying power offenses. The team and staff will all work on their issues, skills, faults and playing strategies. Guys, work on your own faults and just come out to support our future Tech Athletes and Alumni. But my cup is always half full and I refuse to constantly bad mouth our Dawgs and coaching staff. Get over yourselves and give it a rest. See you at the JOE to watch us go 5-1 no matter what poor scheduling and conference was set before our Team and Staff! Bottom line: they are plowing through these and winning.

The potential is there. Amik, Hardy, Graham, Baker etc. We have the playmakers who have not played to the level we are used to. I honestly believe that can still change. I already think J'Mar and Taylor are playing much better than last year. The biggest thing that is holding us back right now is O-line and D-Line (we really lack depth here). I'm fairly concerned with the defensive scheme but I'm hoping we start to show signs of improvement here. We should be guaranteed 7 wins right now with 3 easy games on the schedule. The other 4 games should really be toss ups. Win half of those and we are looking at 9 wins. Win 3 of 4 and we are playing for a conference championship with double digit wins. If we improve our level of play that is not outside of the realm of possibility, but we have to play better than we have this far. U Mass is a perfect opportunity to build some momentum.

Actually, you gave us some good info, Brad. And your point is not lost on me. In most quarters, LA Tech is still considered a “below average” team despite our current 4-1 record.
