When a team gets down early then comes back to win, especially against good competition, it says a lot about its character. For the first in a long time, we had a game go seriously against us but we found away to win. And win convincingly. I think our team learned something's tonight and they're going to be better for it.
This was the first REAL "Louisiana Tech Football" I've seen at JAS in over two years. That second half was fun!
Coach Kline (HCSH) got his manhood back and the Waterboy (Amik) can really play that foosball.
Have you considered those Dogs?
At the risk of sounding like I'm complaining about the HUGE win, I think the only glaring flaw continues to be special teams plan. It's just amazing that it can be so bad, but it has been going on 7 years now, so I guess we should just roll with it.
The Oline really dominated the second half. They played well the first half, but really started dominating in the second half. I can’t imagine how the team feels tonight. I know how I feel, and I can only imagine that they must feel 1000 x’s more emotion over slaying that demon. You could tell that they REALLY wanted that win badly. I was glad to see Holtz get that win too. I think that it will do wonders for him.
Great day as a dawg. Hopefully this flipped a switch not only for this season but going forward with our young talent and the recruiting class we have thus far. And maybe even holtz being reminded when he turns his dawgs loose they ball out!!!!
Not impressed with Dennis Smith. He was on the weekly show and I swear I thought he was hyped up on drugs. Between his wide-eyed glaring at the camera and nervous twitchs and Teddy's constant hand movements, I was going nuts. "Sit still, just talk!" And we got him from McNeese. Stop with these SLC coaches. If they were any good they'd be coaching 5A high school in Louisiana, not in the lousy SLC.
But! after the opening kickoff crapola, the coverage team did much better. We usually tackled 'em inside the 25 the rest of the game. So, good job overall. USM has some serious speed out there returning kicks.
Everybody wanted to be a hero and run it back, which turned into a starting position of the 12-13 yard line. That was killing me. Then we almost let a punter pick up a 4th and forever on a botched snap. Special teams were definitely special, but we were able to overcome it anyway and win convincingly.
