He just mostly babbled through it. That Tech team was loaded with NFL talent. A parade All American QB, All American RB, and a host of other future NFL players. In my opinion it was the 2nd worst loss of the Holtz era, 2nd only to the loss to powerhouse Northwestern @ home 2014. Complete with fireworks display and 25K present to witness it.

I don't think our crowd actually impacted game since ULL? The fanbase didn't really turn out or get loud for our last 2 home games against Southern Miss. That's why I reject the "rivalry" label. Unless your fanbase is passionate about a game, it's not a rivalry.

That’s not true. He beat UNT and FAU last year. Beat WKU at home the year we played them in the title game.

I agree. Facts, not hyperbole. That shootout win against Western Kentucky (with a final ranking of #19 by Sagarin) was the highest ranked opponent we had beaten at home since Fresno State in 2004.

Almost every game is meaningful to a certain degree, whether it goes toward winning the west or becoming bowl eligible, or the bowl itself. What he hasn’t won is the championship game.

I remember that game. Holtz held Dixon to -8 yards rushing with a few fumbles and forced Driskel into 3 picks. He didn't let us stop Ito Smith either. Embarassing. It was like he was trying to humiliate Tech's All Americans for some reason. He did a good job.

I hope to never experience a game like that again in my life. You could tell it was going to be a disaster before you walked into the stadium. Cold, damp, overcast, it felt like a funeral. I should have gotten back in my car and driven home the moment I got there.

sorry - I didn't really follow Tech football last year.
It still sucks when the only big and meaningful wins that he got are against the mighty UNT and FAU of the world.
