The 2012 Utah State game with Orange Bowl representatives was the last home game with greater significance.

Fair or not, this game will be a turning point for the program. I view it in the same light as the 2014 game at ULL – I hope the results are the same.
I tend to agree on the results of a win and the results of a loss. Lots at stake.

You are spot on, except for the comment about USL. We were never in danger of losing to them

Anybody got an early read on how many fans will be in the stadium? That's about the only edge we can provide in terms of impact.

Some, including Holtz, have forgotten what the 2015 most embarrassing loss meant.

We saw early on in 2015 what a wuss Holtz was when he lost to Western and Kansas back to back by playing not to lose. Even then he won the fans back by being 8-3 and playing for a shot at the conference championship in the last game of the season in Ruston. We got KILLED.

USM played and lost to Washington in Dallas.

We beat the Sunbelt champs in New Orleans to pick up our 9th win.

Historically, quick slant routes have killed us in the past. Seems like that is USM's go to moves for moving the ball. Hope we have an answer for that.

Agreed. That's the play that good QB's go to when they want to avoid a big rush! Many of the modern day greats (Tom Brady, Joe Montana, etc..) have used the slant to keep defenses off balance. I've always wondered why we don't use it.

It is Timeout for Tech weekend. If the majority of future or potential future students (with family) attend the game then that came provide a little boost to attendance. Game tickets are part of the Saturday event package if the participants opted to purchase them. Good idea to schedule the Timeout weekend on the USM game weekend IMO.

I agree, but with one caveat. This is not the end of the season, we will have two more "big" games (NT and UAB), still to play and win. But, without a win Saturday, those games drop from all CAPS to lower case.

Was this scheduling on purpose, or did the admin get lucky?
