We get pantsed.
I’m very curious to see how Holtz approaches this game with Alan being his only game experienced QB remaining from the Regular season. Chances are pretty good that Allen won’t even be allowed to run a QB sneak much less anything else for fear he might get hurt. Couple that limitation along with the demand of how safe Holtz runs things to minimize interceptions and the rest of our very predictable offense and we could be looking at a lower scoring game with our defense tasked with having to play almost shutout football from the very start. I think this is going to be a players game where if anyone has some spectacle to contribute we’re going to need it. Go Dawgs!
Is Head the back-up QB? He got a couple of snaps at the end of the TCU disaster.
The offense is gonna have to score and also keep the ball to give the D some rest. That means Allen better be ready and able to scramble to pick up first downs to keep drives alive, else we'll end up on the wrong end of a beatdown, kind of like UNT's.
If Holtz somehow pulls a W out of the hat for this bowl game, it will be his best bowl win...IMHO.
We are so thin and young at so many positions....I expected us to win the last 6 - we had some really good teams bowling the last 6 years....this team comes no where close to the level of those past 6 teams.
What kind of team is Georgia Southern? Running team? Passing team? More defensive than offensive? Does anyone know anything about 'em?
All I know about Georgia Southern is that they lost 5 games this year, but they were all very close games.....for what that's worth. This article doesn't mention anything about our opposition.
Triple option.
But they're down a couple of QBs. Starter practiced but is banged up. 2nd string is out. QB3 most likely. Possible a WR or something in wildcat (which, you know - may work for them because they aren't really looking to throw anyway).
Stingy defense, obviously helped in absolute stats by limited number of possessions per game. They've had good turnover luck on D this season.
This city is DEAD! We didn’t get in until almost 7 and most of the restaurants we frequent were closed or closing. We ended up going to Cafe du Monde for dinner (they closed at 8!). It is sad!
