El Paso is a tough place for us to play. We got out of there with a 17-15 squeaker in 2015, and won 42-21 in 2017. It's never just a gimme over there.
I know we had our issues with the Miners out in El Paso, but UTEP offense is straight up garbage. This "should" be an easy task for Diaco and co.

Trap game! Dawgs will experience an emotional let down. Will not practice well this week. Will be flat for the game. This is where good coaching and senior leadership is critical.
But, they are pretty bad. Only win has been 36-34 over Houston Baptist.
I always worry about weather in El Paso this time of year. Looks good right now.
This is QB1's litmus test...
And this team's - will they perform or drag-ass and squeak out a close win or have that WTF loss after arguably the biggest home win in Holtz's tenure here?
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I can't see how you can lose or struggle against this horrible 2019 UTEP team. They are ranked near the bottom of every offensive stat category.
Holtz has shown that he can struggle with the crappiest of team. I hope he will stay aggressive and put them away with some style points.
I disagree that this is a litmus test for JMar, if that's what you meant. Now a test for Skip......yes. But I think Holtz has heard the message loud and clear, from those on high and the fan base, and will continue to be aggressive from here on out. Call it an epiphany for our HC or whatever we want but all (including Holtz, staff and the players) are now on point IMHO. That doesn't mean we won't lose a game or two from here on out, but aggressive we will be.
It happens every week. Last week Bowling Green was a 30 pt underdog to Toledo and beat them. This week it was Illinois over Wisconsin. For the most part the big favorite wins, but college football is filled with head-scratchers too. It's a mental thing... they have to play just as hard against UTEP as they did USM. Will they be as motivated after the big USM win? Probably not. They are probably thinking the same thing we are... "all we have to do is show up to win this game." That's what gets you beat by an inferior team.
We’ve struggled with UTEP before. But I don’t know if we will this time. Id think we could struggle after bye 2.
Style points don't matter. Divisional away game. I'll take a win.

Style points do matter if one or more of the other front running G5 teams stumble. At the least we need to be the best looking ugly girl at the dance.
