Cannons or Pyrotechnics at a game.....what could go wrong????

Wasn't there a thing in like the last 2 years or so where a cannon, or something similar, went off early in the pyro guys face at one of our games? I seem to remember it being over by the Dawgzilla.
After the incident at the Titans game the NFL has banned onfield pyrotechnics, including at the Cowboys and Texans games.
And Al Michaels called it years ago at a Cowboys game. Go to the 2:33 mark of the video. "It's the stupidest thing in sports....it's a disaster waiting to happen."

Regarding the state's college teams: Texas and Texas A&M have a long and proud tradition of using a cannon. I'm sure that will continue....until there is an incident or problem!
Here is a very well done video by the UNT Athletic Department in a series of Mean Green athletes called "Born and Bred". Notice the Friday Night Lights feel? Great idea huh? (hat tip to HogDawg for pointing out the excellent content by Mean Green's AD.)
As for Mason Fine, I'm a fan except on the day he plays us. The kid is an all day gamer with the heart of a lion. I think UNT was his only D-1 offer. I hope he gets a shot at the NFL.

The crazy thing with that Titans sideline runaway flamethrower was that there apparently was ZERO trained personnel in the stadium. You have a guys in shorts who don't know how to use a fire extinguisher standing there for minutes. Pro firefighters will tell you, as an amateur if you can't put out the fiire in under 10 seconds just get away. Very lucky they were.
Meanwhile.....back on football.......you'll find very few college teams that depend so much on one guy as UNT does Mason Fine. He makes UNT exponentially better. Without Fine, this UNT team probably finishes the year 2-10. But with him, they'll likely finish 5-7 or 6-6, with a chance at a bowl.
So, to control UNT, we must control UNT QB Mason Fine. We gotta make him very uncomfortable, keep him in the box for sacks. "Containment" by the DE's will be vital to Tech winning. If we let Fine roll outside --where he doesn't have to see over tall linemen-- he can be dangerous.
I want to see Willie Baker show out like he did against Hawaii.
