I was fully prepared to take a major step back this year. Diaco has this team playing at a very high level despite changing scheme in a major way. Kudos to coach Diaco. He's a big reason we are where we are. I think, he can earn his pay on this game alone if he shuts down Marshall's offense.

I am certainly not a fan of the “bend not break” philosophy we heard about earlier in the season. The past four games have had a lot less bending and lot less breaking. I agree credit goes to Diaco and the players for their part in being 8-1. Still big games ahead to be even better.
Turnovers have been big lately. Wish some of those interceptions would have come before reaching the endzone.

The defense has played well, no doubt about it. If we had had this defense in some recent years, like, ahem, 2012....great things could have happened.
The DL was huge in the USM game.
We had the same defense in 2012 that we had in 2011. The difference was the game our HC and OC played from one year to the next.
I'm warming to him. Even the tackling seems to be improving.
I mostly attribute Amik’s open field tackling to the fact that he is a freak. Coaching may have contributed a little.
It’s been a fun watching his defense develop into what it is now.
