University Foundation announces significant progress toward campaign goal

Six months after announcing the beginning of its Forever Loyal Capital Campaign, Louisiana Tech University is 90 percent of the way to its goal of $125 million.
“We know that our alumni and friends are loyal to Louisiana Tech,” said President Dr. Les Guice. “Our Tech Family continues to exceed expectations in helping us meet this ambitious goal.”
This announcement follows Louisiana Tech’s inaugural Giving Day on May 1, where donors made nearly 2,000 gifts totaling more than $1.28 million. About $230,000 of the total was donated specifically for disaster relief and recovery.
The original goal for Giving Day was $125,000 to mark the beginning of Tech’s 125th anniversary year.
“We’re incredibly proud of the fact that our first allocation after the April 25 storm was to help Tech faculty and staff meet immediate needs following the tornado,” said Bill Hogan, President of the Louisiana Tech University Foundation. “To date, we have given approximately 50 stipends to faculty, staff, and students. We are continuing to assist them in facing challenges a month after the storm.”
Nearly 17,000 donors have contributed to the Forever Loyal campaign, which focuses on three goals:
  • Providing students with an Unparalleled Educational Experience
  • Building research programs focused on tackling the Grand Challenges of our time
  • Developing the 21st Century Campus vital to these educational and research opportunities
“Annual contributions have increased 77 percent in the past year,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement, “and there has been a 28 percent increase in the number of donors from last year. I’m confident that we will continue to exceed expectations for the Forever Loyal campaign moving into the University’s 125th birthday celebrations.”
