Really did not even consider us a blip on the Vegas radar, thought we were just another line to bet on. Someone must have really cleaned up on this one which of course made someone take a really big loss. Maybe it is good press, we are in the news and significant enough to cause someone some heartache somewhere.
I hate to think this was anything else other than some bettors taking advantage of a situation rather than something malicious, that would be another story. I don't think anyone held information for the purpose of having an advantage in the betting world, but I still have no idea if we broke any rules or regs by withholding that info as long as we did either. Anyone know?
My guess is that a whale (or three) lost and called BS. The line could have been 3 times what it was and it would not have mattered. Marshall still covered. No way even 3 starters missing would have moved the line that much. It might have moved more money to Tech, but usually people know something is up when they see a line move that much and stay away.
Another thing to consider is that all the betting services had Tech as a 5 star pick. The only game played on Friday magnified things too.
How about the Patriots having 10-30 players questionable all week and then they’re a game day decision? This has happened under belichick every year and he is allowed to get away with it and has been actually deemed a genius. Never heard a peep from Vegas.
Piting this so I don't have to see Hog's posts anymore. He's trolling all of you and you're falling for it.
Could this "sleeping giant" refer to a lesser-known college football team that has recently shown impressive performance and potential? If so, which team is it, and what factors have contributed to their awakening?
