For us to see the needle move as a program, we have to string together multiple 9-10 win seasons, play for and occasionally win the conference championship, win bowl games, AND CARE ABOUT EVERY FAN ENOUGH THAT OUR COACHES AND ADMIN CAN SEE THEM INSTEAD OF JUST THE END OF THEIR NOSE.
It matters because 1st is better than not 1st.
They give trophies for it.
Coaches put it on their resumes.
If your position is that they don’t matter because they don’t increase ticket sales, I’d love to see your evidence for that. CGs have been so infrequent around here that you’ve got a very insufficient sample size.
