All 6 of UAB’s FBS wins are in the bottom 12 of the current computer rankings... we REALLY need a good crowd when we play LA Tech this Saturday... LA Tech is #59 in current computer rankings... 60 spots higher than the highest ranked opponent we have beaten... #119-UTSA...
    Here are UAB's wins:

    Alabama State
    Akron 0-10 (130)
    South Alabama 1-9 (125)
    Rice 1-9 (122)
    UTSA 4-6 (118)
    ODU 1-9 (126)
    UTEP 1-9 (128)

Total record of FBS teams beaten, 8-52 .133 winning percentage. Average ranking 124.83 out of 130 teams. Draw your own conclusions, but Tech should be able to win with any legit D-1 QB on the roster. The questions are do we have a legit D-1 QB on the roster and can Holtz get the team motivated and ready to play? We will have the answers to both questions in a few days.

Can we beat them running the wild dawg? Since we don’t have any QB’s left.

I like you. You are a "think outside the box" kind of guy. Your idea could work, as long as our punter does not take the snap. In that case we would be screwed

Thanks! I think a lot of us have been wondering what the situation was with Allen. Surprised it took this long to find out.

Really? Is this not more coverup speak by Holtz? Severe thumb cramping is something else that can only happen in the LA Tech football program. Are practices closed again this week?

I do hope AA is fine and able to play. Maybe thumb cramping contributed to his issues with some of his passes falling short last Friday.

Always thought winning at UAB is far more likely than at MU. Nothing has changed. I posted about a month ago about these two games and said I thought, while losing both could happen, if we split it would be a win at UAB. Holtz has a history of beating a team on the road the year after losing to them at home. And besides, MU is a decent team plus, while UAB is just barely one.

So, with that, I like our chances this week. The Dawgs just have to put their heads on straight and play a solid game.

Any word on if Stallworth, Reed, and/or Lewis will be good to go? OLine depth hurt us Friday and going against another good front this weekend getting the OLine back in tact could go a long way to help out AA.

In the coach's show I know Skip said Stallworth is expected to start. Don't remember what he said about the other two.

It worked out well last week, so like special teams and our punter...let's keep doing the same thing.

    Alrighty.

On the bright side the punter appeared to have learned how to make a tackle in last weeks closed practices.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else know if practices are closed again this week? I’m wondering if our coach feels there is more to try and hide this week.

Southern Miss is the only common opponent, right? Of course, I think they are getting their starting QB back and we are missing ours. One would think Allen will be more comfortable this week in terms of a feel for the game. But we can't have the stupid mistakes.

UAB has been good at home, not so good on the road. Not that there is any kind of HFA...
