Great pictures! One thing I see I was wondering about is the risers for seating along the 3rd base line are going in. That goes fast since they're precast.
We're three months away from February. Hopefully they're off the field soon and can start on that phase of the project.
I hate that they used "Runs Hits Err" instead of the classic "R H E" on the scoreboard. Makes the scoreboard look cluttered and basically says the fans are too stupid to figure out what it means on their own. Like everyone going to a baseball game doesn't know what R H E stands for.

To be fair, looking at Daktronics site they use the "Runs Hits Err" on all of their physical scoreboard. If we went full videoboad (incorporating the scoreboard digitally into it) could have more flexibility in layout.
Daktronics has an interactive mock up designer tool that you can create this exact one.

To give you and idea what it might look like, this is comparable to Rice's previous scoreboard (minus the ad banners on the sides).
Having it spelled out isn’t all bad. For some this could be their first baseball game to attend.

Fair enough. I just don’t recall seeing it very often, if at all. Still don’t like the way it looks.
As it stands today, the new scoreboard is a major upgrade from what we had. And they haven't even tried to turn it on yet! If it actually works it really will be an improvement.

The lighting is the same company that did the TAC recently. They have worked on stadiums such as Alabama and Auburn. Yes, these lights have the ability to do special effects (interactive demo).

Is that also the company that the Joe’s lights come from? They do strobing effects as well.
No, we used GeoSurfaces (St Gabriel, LA) GeoSports Lighting for Joe Aillet. Same company who installed the baseball and softball turf installation. They have a lighting solution side of their company.
Regarding the Love Shacks new LED lights, it will pop! Musco Lighting did a great job with the TAC. The color of our arena looks awesome.

They've gotten the dirt work for the softball concession/ticket office building finished and are starting to put in the underground lines. Imagine they'll pour that foundation before the end of the week.
On the baseball field, they are putting the red brick on the columns at the front entrance.
The only thing that hasn't been started is the small grandstand for the soccer field but that won't be much to do compared to the rest of the project.
